How Long Does Sulfa Stay In Your System

Took macrobid x 9 days and allergic reaction.

Macrobid is an antibiotic drug and like most antibiotics when stopped, it will stay in your system for about a week, but a lot depends on the dosage and also your metabolism; so it could be a little more or less.

It is common for a doctor to prescribe a 7-10 day course for an antibiotic; and from what I've read, most antibiotics will continue to fight off bacteria for 4-10 days (about a week) after use.

Regarding the allergic reaction, information that I've gathered states the following:

"A serious allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of a serious allergic reaction may include: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing."
