Re: Sue (# 14)
I slowly weaned to 1 mg of subutex while I was pregnant baby did not get any withdrawasl but Dr knew I was prescribed it and they monitored me a bit more hope this helps
Hi honey. To the gal having a baby. Yes dear. Your baby is going to withdrawal. You need to go to your sub Dr and your OBGYN and come up with a plan they both agree on. I have met dozens of young moms who have successfully stayed on carefully weaned back. But at three months you have risk of miscarriage. One thing about newborn babies is they have no memories to compare their feelings or experience to. As uncomfortable as it might be for a new born. Please don't make this decision yourself. Your baby has a better chance if you don't put it through in uterine trauma. If you jump off anything above .05. you're on for the ride of your life. Your baby too. No matter how much sub you take, it's hell to get off. It's going to be ok. But you gotta make a plan. Then go forward. Hang in there. Congratz on your pregnancy.
If your prescribed suboxone and you too k subutex it wont matter they can tell the difference on a test
I will be clearer on my question... my drs office recently informed me that per D.E.A. that a blood test is required to test levels of prescribed opiates. I did run out of my meds and took one half of a suboxone strip and took 7 subutex in a one week period. I will of course have the required blood draw but need to be free of the subutex and suboxone. This was the first time I have ever taken subutex and suboxone. Please... Can anyone tell me how many days approx. I need to wait to be sure my blood will be clear of both subutex and suboxone?
I keep asking the question how long does subutex and suboxen stay in blood I am not getting an answer. Everyone is asking about the life in urine, can someone answer how long it is detected in blood.
Look up the symptoms that go with adverse (bad) effects of the opiate blocker in the Suboxone. When I went to a clinic and we had group meetings, one fellow actually burned his tongue with a cig to show them he had sores or blisters in his mouth form this drug. It worked. It's just all about money, the Subutex costs so much less, it's sort of cruel for doctors to prescribe this knowing the patients can't afford it. Rashes, headaches, mouth blisters are just some of the symptoms that can make a Dr. switch you. Just don't whine, be firm, you are the patient, nicely demand it.
The thing two people I know told Doctor to get changed to subutex is, they lost their prescription plan and have to pay full price!,,,Subutex is a lot more affordable.! I'd say 400 dollars more for suboxon!
I disagree with you as for being a horrible person and a s***ty mother. If you've never been opiate dependent and gotten pregnant than you have no right to try judging this mother as you're not in her shoes nor do you understand the whole story. As a registered nurse and recovering iv opiate addict when i was pregnant with my 2nd child i too had a problem with opiates and it was and is still advised that you do not quit cold turkey for the well being of not only the fetus but as well for the mother carrying the child as the withdrawals can get strong enough to terminate the both of you. However i do not believe in taking suboxone when pregnant because of own personal experience with the drug; personally a bottle of tylenol twice to three times a day has helped me with the withdrawals. I wish everyone the best of luck. By the way it takes 150 hours to get put of your system!!
As far as pregnancy and suboxone and subutex- it completely depends on the dosage you are on as to how it will effect the baby. Wean down to a low dose to minimize the risks. I got down to 0.5 mg a day and both my kids were born without withdrawals and healthy. That is a quarter of 2 mg small suboxone pill. Also very important to inform the anesthesiologist and ob dr that you are in treatment. If you don't then yes you run a horrible risk of dcfs taking your baby when you test positive. It is passed through breast milk so stay on low dose. Benefits of breast feeding are worth it even if you only do it for a month or 2. I did both formula and breast milk to minimize problems. Withdrawal while pregnant is very dangerous. Get on Medicaid and get in treatment. Stay off drugs. Everything will change when your kid is born. It will be worth it. You can do this! Pity the child going into foster care for having a uninformed parent. Educate yourself on your local standards in regards to drug testing and treatment. Ask questions. Good luck!
I have a friend that has been on subutex for almost 3 years now,how long does the docter give to a women after having a baby
How long does suboxone stay in ur blood?? I done one 8mg tablet in one day. Please help
I've been on subs for two years now for back pain. My Dr. started me out on suboxone, but it gave me terrible headaches. However, I asked him what would happen if I was ever in an accident & needed medical treatment in the ER, for example. He told my that if the ER gave me an IV pain med that the nyloxon would not bother me. I have personally taken other opioids for pain when I ran low on my suboxone W/ little to no side effects...maybe just a little bit of a headache. Everyone's different though!
You definitely don't want to quit.....if I could do my pregnancy on subutex over again I would had weaned myself down or talked to my Dr so he would.....I'm not trying to scare you butI gave birth to a beautiful baby girl 14 days ago and she's still in the NICU and the Dr is saying another 2-3 weeks before she can come home. I have been on subutex for 3 years in Nov. and I'm prescribed 3 a day.....my obgyn has known from the beginning that I'm on them and my baby girl is now on morphine 4 times a day .to replace the subutex and they are weaning her from that......seriously TALK to your Dr.....really talk to them child protective services was involved and was questioning my mothering of my other 2 children and nobody wants any of this
I totally agree that the baby suffers I'm going through the exact same thing right now.....my baby has been in the NICU for 12 days out of her 14 days on earth....its horrible and knowing that I am the cause makes it 10xs worse. My doctor never once warned me of the problems I COULD run into I'm sure some mothers have perfectly normal babies but what I thought was normal was actually signs of withdrawl? Not to mention my other 2 children are being questioned as well....I'm not perfect but if I wasn't a mother and a wife I'd be NOTHING!! If anyone reads this that's on any DRUG please think about what your doing if you are wanting to get pregnant or aren't trying to prevent it
Most baby's are tested by their first stool and drugs can be detected back months but most hospitals don't even test for buprenorphine.....I am prescribed subutex for over 2 years and my baby was born 7/20/15 she was negative on all drugs in her screen but she is still in the NICU and will be for atleast 2 more weeks for N.A.S. andI have to deal with child protective services.....sucks considering I was told I could take this while pregnant? Missed out on a lot of her first things! Hopefully this is helpful
I totally agree with u. What is the purpose of switching from pain meds to subutex if yr main purpose is " The High" Come on people either get clean or DON'T!
Subutex and suboxone are the same drug. It shows up the same in a urine screen.
I just had my daughter two weeks ago, and I was on subutex my entire pregnancy. She is perfect. She did not go through any withdrawal. I do not recommend stopping taking subutex while you're pregnant. You will have a much more comfortable pregnancy and it will not effect your baby. Good luck! I wish you and your baby the best.
i was a pill addict, i self medicated by iv ing tex and subs a quarter at a time for 2 weeks until i said im done and could go long enougb without sickness and pain, i hope all well and able to become clean
