Revlimid contains the active ingredient Lenalidomide, it is most commonly used to treat Myeloma.
If he was taking it and experienced bad side effects or problems, it can take several weeks, before it's completly processed out of his body and he sees improvement. Generally, some should be seen about 2 weeks after he stops taking it, but some symptoms can linger for a month or so.
Are there any other questions?
Re: Lennie (# 8)
I was diagnosed with Myeloma and Amyloidosis in April 2016 and part of my medication was Revlimid which I took for 9 months. Fortunately my condition improved to such an extent that I came off the medication in December 2016. We are now in September 2017 and I still have taste impairment whereby I get depressed because being a foody I don't enjoy my food anymore. When will my taste return. Has anyone experienced this problem?
Update: After 6 weeks off the Lenalidomide I can see distinct improvement in my energy levels such as easier to go up the stairs. No real side effects. On medical advice just started to increase the Flurosamide to 1.5 of 40mg a day to try and reduce the ankle swelling. Nothing yet but we will see. My taste buds have improved but still there and bothering me as I am not really enjoying my food. When should the taste buds return to normal?
I have just stopped taking Lenalidomide. How long will it be before I get my taste buds back?
Update: I have stopped taking Lenalidomide for 3 and a half weeks now. My taste buds are showing signs of improvement but are still noticeable. How long before my taste buds get back to normal?
My energy levels are also improving since I stopped taking the Lenalidomide, but I have swelling in my feet and ankles for which my consultant has prescribed Flurosamide to remove the water retention which is not really helping.
Any comments?
I have been taking Revlimid for eight years due to MM. Current dose is 10 MG per day for 21 days then 7 days off. My spouse is afraid to be in any physical contact with me when taking the drug due to side effects such as cancer, etc. How long must I stop taking Revlimid to clear it completely out of my system?
Since my Revlimid schedule is 21 days on, 10 days off, it will never be totally out of my system. I may have to take a chance and stop using it to improve my quality of life. I will check with my doctor in a few weeks to discuss any other options.
She cannot get cancer from you!
You should not make babies, unless you are 3 months off Revlimid. It is a close relative of Talidomide taken in Europe against morning sickness. It was very effective for that, but cause serious birth defects.
I have now stopped taking Lenolidimide for 8 months and I still have impaired taste. Is there anything I can do to improve my taste
I am a woman on Revlimid and want to find out if it's possible for my husband to suffer from any side effects associated with this medication during sexual intercourse?
I have AL Amyloidosis and Myeloma but am in remission at the moment. I stopped taking various drugs including Revlimid in December 2016 but over 1 year later I still have taste impairment. Can I do anything to get my taste buds back?
