There is really no way to give a definitive answer, because it is going to depend on the dosage, your tolerance to opiates and your own metabolism.

They are usually prescribed to be taken about every 6 hours, as needed.

If your current dosage isn't handling your pain for a long enough period of time, then you should consult your doctor for a possible dosage adjustment.
