i was on methadone for 9 and half months and started at 15mg then 30 mg then 50 mg then 100 for about 3 months and the last 3 weeks i was on it i was on 30 mg and my last dose was aug 8th, will i pass a urine test that i have on sept 3rd, will the methadone be out of my urine by then,

Hi Dannie,
From what I could gather, Methadone can be detected in your urine for as long as 6-12 days after your last dose.
Depending on the type of drug test you'll be taking:
-It can be detected in your blood for up to 24 hours
-It can be detected in your saliva for up to 1-10 days
-It can be detected in your hair for up to 90 days
How many days leeway do you have in-between your last dose and your upcoming drug test?

Hi,
First, I'm a physician. Second, I am a methadone patient for the last 15 years. Methadone is a fat binding drug which is stored in the liver & in fat cells & can be detected in the urine for 30+ although most urine tests do not screen for methadone as the test is expensive. If you take it as prescribed to treat either narcotic addiction or to treat chronic pain in a pain clinic & are not taking more than prescribed at a dose or diverting it & selling it because of it's street value (part of the reason testing for methadone is expensive is due to the fact patients who do sell their methadone will try to cover the fact they aren't taking it by putting a drop of their methadone in their urine sample so the sample will be positive for methadone which is why the lab will check for two specific metabolites, methadone A & methadone B not everyone has the same one & by seeing this in the urine it proves the drug has been taken orally and broken down by the liver. If the test for the metabolite is negative then the patient will often be told the test for methadone is negative, something the patient will say is impossible because they know they put methadone in their urine sample & the patient now has some explaining to do & most will do a 'MacBeth' ~as in Shakespeare....."Me thinks the lady doth protest too much.........I've seen many an act worthy of a Broadway . In the blood methadone can be detected for 30 to 90 days in the detoxing patient & forever in a patient who is on the medication to treat addiction or chronic pain. It can be detected in saliva for 30+ days & in hair, depending on how fast your hair grows for up to 6 to 9 months. By the way, as of 2005 it is a felony to attempt to alter a drug test it's not worth it!

In march i had gotten sighned up for the methadone program and got up to 95mlg.daily,then went from that to 54mlg.then to 32mlg.and then 30mlg then 35.the last time i had dosed was last thursday when will it be out of my urine?will there still be traces?

to answer your question, usually methadone stores up in your fat tissue of the body, so from the 11th to the 29th hmmm if you only did it once and you havent been doing methadone you might be ok but just remember the more you take the more it stores up so lets say you took some a week before, then on the 11th , well the dose you took a week before the 11th will still be and show up. I hope you will be ok , i know its very difficult but i know you can do it, try to stay away from the methadone stay on your suboxones i think your doing the right thing good luck to you, if i knew how many times you had been doing methadone before hand i would be able to give you a more accurate answer. but if you only did it one time and two weeks later you had to give a pee test id say you should be fine depending on your weight, and your metabolism. I hope your test is fine good luck.............................

They have to use a specific test to test for methadone. The only places that I know that test for methadone are the methadone clinic, drug rehab centers, & pain clinics... Probation doesn't. Wish u the best of luck!

I was on methadone for months from pain when into the sub program right away I was still sick and still texting positive for methadone for 3 weeks finally after the third week I was negative so give it enough time methadone has a shelf life of 2

I recently got off probation as well, they did not do the same test which this dr ^ spoke of, though they test at the clinic specifically for methadone and the methadone metabolite. They also test for opiates. Recently (in the last year or so) they have tested for oxycodone as well at clinic I attend. However at probation I failed my drug tests as I fail all drug tests for opiates becausw of methadone. And it's fine because I had a legal prescription... also I have met people who went to the clinic, they left and still tested positive 17 days, 25days, and yes well over a month, actually almost 45 days. Methadone if taken regularly and in high dosrs and forextended periods, takes forever to get out of your system. But there are many thinfs to consider when talking aboit methadone and drug tests. And if its one tgat tests for metabolites then you have to take it..kinda like how pain clinics, test for the levels of your pain medicine.
But the point is you will definetly fail a drug test anywhere for opiates if you take methadone. Based on many factors will depend on how long you have til you will be clear.
Didnt feel like reading more posts from people who didnt have personal experoemce experience with it, lol, this was not what I was looking for anyways lol
