How Long Does It Stay In Your System Pseudoephedrine

I have taken pseudoephedrine daily for the last week. I have to take a drug test the day after tomorrow. It's a urinalysis. How likely is it that I will have a false positive for meth? How long does pseudoephedrine stay in your body?

While it is true that Pseudoephedrine may be detected as amphetamines (speed), the likely-hood is largely dependent upon the quality of the drug test. A lot of these standardized drug tests have a fairly high false-positive response, where it seems as though anything is likely to show up no matter what you took. To my knowledge, false positives are known to occur on them anywhere from 4 to 50% of the time.

How did your test go?

For future reference, Pseudoephedrine has a half-life of 4 to 8 hours and the elimination time from the body is 5 to 6 half-lives, so it would be processed out in approximately 20 to 48 hours.

I actually didn't end up having to take the test because of a paperwork mixup on their end. They are using a urine sample and it's being tested at a phlebotomy center. Results are for my probation officer who reports to the judge I have. I hope to be done with this in another month or so. My probation officer never mentioned abstaining from certain otc meds and so I was never concerned until someone said that pseudoephedrine could result in a false positive for meth. Hadn't really occurred to me before, but duh, it's like the main ingredient. Anyway, thanks for the information, now I know!

No. It dries the cervical mucus and then you can't get pregnant.

I took about 7200 mgs of pseudoephedrine (total, not at once)... It was for losing weight... My dr has run diagnostics on me because I have been ill - will he be able to tell my high use, or does he have to do a specific test to tell?
