I took only one 7.5 lortab and was drug tested. Will it show up in my urine? If so, for how long?

I would like to share my story so that maybe just maybe it might help anyone that may be in a simlar situation. I have a herniated disk in my neck that causes me to have very intense pain. I go to the spine center for pain managment and I am prescribed oxycodone. I try my best to only take the dose that is prescribed but sometimes the pain gets the best of me and I take more than I should. So here goes with my long story. Last month I ran out of my medicine like 10 days early. I saved one 30 mg oxycotin because I knew it was time for me to have a drug screen. Well I was in a lot of pain and a friend gave me 24 7.5 hydrocodone on a Tuesday and I took 6 on Tuesday 8 on wed. 8 on Thursday and 2 on Friday morning. Then I had nothing on sat. Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Then on wed. at noon I took the 30 mg. that I saved. The very next morning on Thursday at 9:45 they gave me a urine test. I worried myself sick for a month. I worried that 6 days wasn't enough time to get so many pills out of my urine and also I worried that maybe the 30mg I took 22 hour before my test maybe wouldn't show up. It was an awful worry. But thankfully I passed my test. And the test they give is a very expensive test. So I can say to anyone worried that 6 days is enough time to clear the urine if opiates and that in 24 hours opiates will still show up. I hope my story will help anyone in a similar situation.

Dont listen to David! Hes giving you mathematical time frames, when it really just depends on your body. Lortab is an opiate. The standard time for opiates is 48-72 hours. If you only took one, it was probably out of your system before the day was out. It also depends on if you take them regularly or if this was a one-time thing. Long story short: Your cool,dude.

How can I find a pain management clinic that will actually listen and care about the amount of pain I'm in? I have a rare disease that's making my bones break from the inside out in both legs with no cure. I've been on the same meds for four years and as we all know, our body becomes use to the same meds after time and my Dr will do nothing to help me and I stay in excruciatingly pain 24/7 and can hardly walk and on top of that, I still have a child I'm trying to raise. Please help, any idea at all.

First, your dr CAN NOT have you aressted for taking your pills that they prescribed you. 2nd, even if they wanted to check, it would be difficult for them to tell "how" you took them. 3rd, the only thing they could do at WORST is dismiss you. ..DR/PATIENT privileged. ..even if you took someone else's meds, they can't call the police.

I feel your pain I had endometriosis fibroid tumors cysts on my ovaries and blood supply to all that ,that the doctor said looked like a Detroit city road map.I was in so much pain for the last 20 years that I thought if I could just get to a gun I'd blow a hole through my head or gut and end it .I could not escape the pain that followed like my shadow ever present day and night please tell your doctor about all the things that you're experiencing write these things down how long it lasted etc so he can adjust the meds accordingly I'm sure if u have a careing Dr.he or she will not cut you off a person will have good days and bad days they understand that .I went to a Dr that I had traveled over 1000 miles round trip to see who ultimately said you've lived with it for 20 yes ,live with it another 20 yes and when I began to cry he made me an appt.with a shrink so I gave up and several years later I found a wonderful carrying Dr who gave me a hysterectomy he took it all out and I've been virtually pain free since .good luck dear,I hope u get some relief and some help I'll keep you in my prayers.

I've taken about 5 or 6 in the past 4 or 5 days sat - Mon. How long before I can goto get a drug test. So I don't have to take them illegally anymore.

Lortab and Vicodin both contain the same ingredients: Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen.

I have been prescribed hydrocodone for years legally. But because of people who are worried about drug screens and are using them illegally, I am treated like a criminal when I go to my pharmacy with a LEGAL prescription. They look at me sideways through their eyes (like I know how to manipulate my doctor to give me the prescription) they check and recheck the prescription, they highly regulate what DAY I can get them on. Not a day early even if I am leaving town! I don't use it for "FUN" I can not function normally without this medicine. So people who are taking this just because it's TUESDAY and there is no distractions, I am really angry! You are making it extremely difficult for those of us who REALLY NEED it.

Pain management docs don't call the cops on you unless you steal their prescription pads. Worst case is if you use up too much medication too soon, they'll kick you out of their clinic. But since you didn't run out early and bug them for more meds, you'll be fine. It's not a violation unless you run out of pills and find yourself in withdrawal and bug them for more meds too early.

They are the same drug, just different dosages. Usually 7.5 and 5 mg respectively. Same drug test results

Hey what's up, I have kidney stones and haven't taken anything for about a month. But I took 1 vicodin 10 today... and I may be getting a UA wednesday. I'm 6'1", 220lbs, athletic build... What do you think? A little worried lol!

You've got about 5 days, I wouldn't sweat it at all. If Ya only took one (or even 2-3) it most likely will be outta Your' system by in the morning!

You talk about strength level. What do you mean? If you have been on hydrocodone daily for 7 -12 months, then does that mean you will test for a higher strength level on a drug test? Or if you take more medicine than usual one week, the level of pain med in your system could be higher on a test? I have been taking more than my prescribed dosage of hydrocodone daily and need to get my levels lower if that makes sense. However, I cant just stop taking the med altogether. What do you recommend?
