Have you tried checking with the social work department of your local hospitals?

They usually have lists of such resources and will be able to refer you somewhere, or help you apply for any assistance you might be eligible to get.

if you filed a police report about the break in, then you have a copy of it and show it to your doctor for a refill. It's not like you "lost" the medication; it was stolen and you can prove it.

If you do not have the police report or did not file one, it'll be a lot harder but you could still ask. Just know that the doctor gets in trouble for refilling RXs like this, without covering himself by asking for the police report, etc. Your doctor is in a tough place if you did not file a police report. Try filing one now if you can.

Can you not go to the food stamp office and file for the medicade program .. Try that or call your local rural legal service office ..

Resources that.pay for medications and medical treatment that are not government funded won't pay for pain management or pain meds for those that have non cancer related pain.

Most Medicaid.programs have limits and restrictions on pain meds for chronic pain now. They may pay for certain meds but many require a Prior Authorization that many drs don't want to bother with because they are paid so little to see the patient by Medicaid. Some states have limits on how many doses a month or year they will pay for with some pain meds. Some. states have a small number of pain drs that accept Medicaid and they aren't accepting new patients.
