How Can I Tell If Methadone Is Affecting My Heart

How can I tell if Methadone Is affecting my heart and what other symptoms would i have if i've taken too much? I was just put 10mg 4 times a day but not doing much and am scared to increase the dose, so any info would be great.

The noticeable symptoms would most likely including your starting to feel very dizzy, drowsy, fatigued and maybe like it's hard to breathe or get air.

How long have you been taking it?

It may take a short while for it to really reach its full effect in your body, so increasing it without medical approval wouldn't be advisable.

i have just started this drug on the 24th and have read all bad new about it. i took a 20mg last night around 9 and about 30 min latter i felt my heart raceing out of were for like 60 seconds then just slowed back down. my biggest fear of this drug is the effects it has on the heart. i think am going to give the doc a call and get off or rather have it changed.

I took my buspar and 2 Loratabs and a nausea pill and my heart is racing and I have a severe headache and im scared it was too much. What can I do if so? I heard u could drink milk? Please msg asap.

They are the worst to take busbar, before I went to a doctor someone told me they where the same and the reason your heart races is because it is also used for inrecton melfuction!

I just want to put out there that Methadone has a lot of side effects. 1 being its causes Cardiac Arrest you can become toxic and your heart is taking a beating plus is takes all the calcium out of your body so ull start noticing that your teeth start cipping then breaking all together. The methadone clinics will never admit it but I'm on methadone and it's happened to me and tons of other people I know on my clinic. Plus when your ready to come off this you have to do it SLOW !!!or it's going to be hard and u may relapse! If you do it fast you'll feel it in ur bones. That is another thing the clinics call a mith but it's really true. The scariest thing to me is that it effect our health mostly our hearts and the higher you go up the more susceptible to cardiac arrest.

Yes!! I actually just talked to my Doctor this morning & she told me if you have a low immune system & are in a high dose it can effect your heart! I asked her how? She said " it can cause a heart arrhythmia"! Please see your doctor ASAP!!

For me methadone is the way off opiates, I've done it twice. But everyone might react differently. I would drop 5mg every 4 or 5 days and I was fine but I never went over 35 or 45mg. I would just get myself stable. The last time I jumped off was at 5mg then next day did 30mg and was done. No WDs at all. I had lots of methadone 10mg pills. Hate the methadone clinics as they want you there forever. It's a business, their making money, and the longer you're there the better for them. Look, your either going to use or not. It's all up to you. We have a choice I know. I was big into coke. Hey I grew up in Miami in the 60s to now, so I say no more. I like boats and flying, get it. One day I said enough is enough. I think that last run I was up 18 days. No meetings, no in-patent. Said to myself and God I'm done. And I still am. The opiates started with back surgeries and chronic pain. Never took opiates till I was 45. Now 54 and the pain sucks and so does being a prisoner to opiates. Good luck everyone.

I’d for sure not go up trust me I was on 100 mg fir a year flat bout killed me Methadone shouldn’t b prescribed long at all causes lots problems I can tell u all about it ifu need more info

IT HAPPENED TO ME. GET AN EKG AND TELL THEM TO READ IT FOR LONG QT PROLONGATION. IT'S WHEN THE TIME BETWEEN BEATS IS LONGER THAN NORMAL AND MAKE YOU PASS OUT AND NOT WAKE UP. READING THE EKG THE REGULAR WAY WON'T FIND IT. THEY HAVE TO READ IT DEEPER AND IT TAKES A LITTLE LONGER SO YOU MUST REQUEST THE READING FOR QT'S SPECICALLY. NORMAL READING NUMBER IS 450-500.
