How Can I Get My Pm Doctor To Switch Me From Percoset Roxicontin

Hi, I am currently prescribed 10/325 oxycodone 4 times a day, I REALLY want to get my PM doctor to switch me to Roxicodone but don't know how to go about asking him without sounding like a druggie, I have tried my husbands Roxi's twice and they help me better and last longer, just not sure how to word the request, last visit the dr offered to switch me to morphine but honestly that scares me to be on morphine

I'm not surer why the Morphine would scare you, when it's not as strong and dangerous as the Oxycodone you are currently taking.

What does is his Roxicodone?

It contains the active ingredient Oxycodone, which is the same as the narcotic in your Percocet, but the Percocet also contains Acetaminophen, which helps the Oxycodone to work better.

Tell your doctor you are having "breakthrough pain", and you dont want the morphine.

Thanks, I gave it a shot but he wants me to stay on the percs for a while longer, doesn't make much sense to me since he offered morphine but nothing I can do about that. @verwon thanks for the info but I was aware of what both drugs were, I just like the Roxis better because they last longer and I had been on morphine before and it just hits me way to hard and I dont like the fuzzy feeling it gives me, seems much stronger than percoset to me

Roxicodone is the exact RX as Oxicodone ! To get the results your looking for, ask your DR. for your med's without the tylenol in it ! It is that simple, you have a computer, so look up what the differance is between the two med's you mentioned, and you'll find one has tylenol in it, whereas the other does not !

One of the answers were correct. Just tell your Dr. that you can't tolerate the tylenol in the percocetts. The Roxi's doesn't have any tylenol in them at all. You could tell him that the tylenol is hurting your stomach.
