Horrible Days With Generic Adderall 30mg
UpdatedWhen I went to Walmart to refill my script, they gave me this generic crap. Everyday I take it, I end up regretting it. I am still scattered like a flipping crazy. It is NO GOOD, plus my stomach was upset all day and it gave me acid reflux. I am lactose intolerant and have to be gluten free, what the heck did they add to it. One pill & the difference is already SO VERY obvious, a week and I am pissed! I have a hard enough time getting through a day, I don't need this crap adding to it. ADHD ain't not game and is bad enough!

Hello, Tlloyd! How are you doing? I'm very sorry about the problems that you're having.
What the markings on them? This information would enable me to double check the inactive ingredients for you.
The FDA lists this medication as being a stimulant that is most commonly used to treat ADHD and narcolepsy. It carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia and anorexia.
that's unfortunate. I see others have asked for identifying marks to determine which generic you are using. I found the pink Core Pharma generic amphetamine salt combination to be personally less affective than the brand name manufactured by Shire.
Me too, I've not been the same since forced onto the generics. When the country experienced the major shortage of the generics my md asked for the no substitution in scripts until they could get the generics back in stock. I experienced an immediate improvement in efficacy. Not expecting any difference, I hadn't thought about it until *I* noticed a huge difference. I asked her "what's up with this ? " to which she replied: "I know. All my patients have a problem with the generics but we MD's are forced to write the generic scripts as most preauthorizations for the better, non-generic medications are usually rejected". I am certain that the insurance companies would rather paitents suffer or even die before they allow them to take medication which has better efficacy stats. The penny- wise -pound -foolish business practices, a philsosphy dictated by big- business, medical lobbyists who view short term gains as better than long- term profits. I.e. when medications are useless patients must increase dosages to accommodate the generic- joke. In the long-term the less effective, generic meds will cost the insurance companies *more*. It's all about immediate, short-term, financial gains and the patients wellbeing is the last concern on the list. This hort-sightedness causes predictable losses in the long run. How *do* they make up for huge losses ? By creating "new and improved", stronger/more powerful drugs protected by long-term patents. And thus, the process begins anew over and over again. Cuz, this is where the money is creating new drugs which afe often put to market prior to FDA approval- that is until a kick-back is involved. Trust me, I've read and followed the process and the indusrty as it developed from the 1940's to what it's become today. The policies also explain why we are not getting better but , actually , getting worse as we are prescribed more and more ineffective, often deadly ,drugs. The insurance companies are in complete collusion with these decisions. As for us ? We're screwed.
Boston Holly: You are more accurate than you would really like to know, (before I started my fight with MS, I was a pharmacist). However, neither doctors nor pharmacists know the complete picture. Few look for it as they have their heads down, just workin' the job, just another cog in a wheel. You are horribly right that lobbyists by the handfuls are working even harder for Big Pharma in DC to maintain their power first and money a close second. If the sick public had a clue... Too much said. I only wish that it was not too late. Our govt has become our master instead of our servant. All people taking ANY psych meds are well known to the govt and best be on their best behavior or else... Just because I'm a little paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to control all of us one way or another. Those who have eyes, let them see, etc, etc.
Take care.
Adderall sucks if you don't get the right generic. Sandos all the way all the time.
It's the smoothest and best one out there.
Was the generic Adderall made by Mallinckrodt? They are horrible.
Teva/Barr is the way to go....
Agreed! It's a set back on top of the daily challenge s we face
Did you try Ritalin? It is known to have a calming effect, like when parents need the kids to settle down do homework. Both are used they do have slightly different side effects.
Re: Verwon (# 1)
Those of us who have taken Adderall---and its generic equivalents---are well aware of the possible side effects; they come listed on that piece of paper we receive with our bottles of pills ever month. We are also aware of how it should work when we take it. When it fails to work, but only gives side effects to the level that our lives---and livelihoods---are disrupted by something that's supposed to enable us to function, but doesn't (or makes it worse), the effects on our lives can be catastrophic.
