High Blood Pressure Treatment For 95 Year Old
UpdatedMy mother is 95 and never had high blood pressure while taking 20 mg Metoprolol. About 3 months ago her blood pressure started being around 200/90. She has been on 100mg of Losartan and 2.5 mg Amlodipine, but it isn't bringing it down. Suggestions?

How long has she been taking the new medications? They usually take about 4 to 5 weeks to reach their full level of efficacy in the body. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension.
Does she eat a lot of fatty and salty foods?
Is she on any other medications?
