have 5 herniated discs and one is pushing on my spinal cord and causing atrophy in my entire right side of my body with constant pain. just below my neck in line with my shoulders it feels like there is a baseball size pieceof glass inside my body along with a 2 inch drywall screw in my ass cheek. what is a reasonable level of pain medication should i be taking and how often. oxycodone is the best that ive tried and the ONLY one that has even come close to working all the way on a pain that never goes away completely. im freakling exhausted from the past 5 years of being torchered. from this agony

There is really no way to say what a reasonable level is for anyone. Everyone's body can react differently to pain medications and a dosage that might work well for you, may be too high or far too low for someone else.

The only thing you can really do is find yourself a good pain management doctor and work closely with them, to find the correct medications, dosage and dosing frequency that works for you.

Oxycodone actually comes in varying dosages of 3 different formulations, there is a time released, a regular release and an instant release. It may require a combination of them to truly provide you with pain relief.
