My story is like most of yours-I was put on the patch, the dosage was increased, after five years I am in remission and wanted off. I titrated down to 13mcg and made the jump. I have been in some state of withdrawal from 50mcg to now, one month being patch free. My doctor said it could be months before it ends. This drug saved my life then took it way again but in a different context. I am going to cover withdrawals but in short doses. It should only be used for end stage. If for chronic, only for the least time possible I found this and wanted to share it. The worse of the withdrawals is the feeling you have to move, jerk, etc. There is a medical term for it, Read on. .Akathisia, or acathisia (from Greek ?a???e?? kathízein - "to sit", a- indicating negation or absence, lit. "inability to sit") is a movement disorder characterized by a feeling of inner restlessness and a compelling need to be in constant motion, as well as by actions such as rocking while standing or sitting, lifting the feet as if marching on the spot, and crossing and uncrossing the legs while sitting. People with akathisia are unable to sit or keep still, complain of restlessness, fidget, rock from foot to foot, and pace.

Hello, Sid! How are you?

Yes, Akathisia is known to occur with withdrawal from almost any physically-addictive medication, such as narcotics. When it's due to drug withdrawal, it tends to gradually improve with time, slowly becoming less and less severe, until it goes away entirely.

Withdrawal symptoms may not occur for months in everyone that stops such medications, they may only last a few days for some people.

Are there any other questions or concerns?
