Why has heminevrin been outlawed in the treatment of chronic alcoholics? It was used successfully in the detoxing process and lowered the rates of fits and tremors. Could it possibly be that it had a very soothing and calming effect and the medical bodies feel that patients especially wanton alcoholics are not fit or deserving of a pleasant detox regimen?

I was prescribed heminevrin (192mg) for sleeping and it was very effective....until it was stopped. As usual, anything helpful and supportive gets the FDA boot and the patient is left to suffer.
