Help Finding A Pharmacy That Has Adderall In Stock

Walmart tells me every month they are out of stock on Adderall.

Pharmacies are limited as to how much of each controlled substance they can order and have on hand each month. Once they run out, they cannot order more, until the next month.

It's really just a matter of trying various pharmacies to see who may still have it in stock.

The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia, nervousness and anorexia.

What area do you live in? Perhaps someone that lives nearby can suggest a pharmacy.

I can't find adderall in the Woburn, Ma area. I always went to CVS, but they keep saying they're still waiting for shipment. It's been two months!

No one is going to give you that information. And here's why.

Let's assume you go to CVS. There's a shortage on your medication. They go on their system and they see there's 12 bottles available. So they order 1 or 2 bottle. ( if they can order in time before it's sold out). Well there's 100 pills in each bottle. You get 30 the rest goes to other patients who also need that dose. (Me, and other people on here) By the time next month comes, CVS already sold those 100 pills and they're out and need to re order again. But there aren't anymore bottles with the distributor.

My advice is find a local family pharmacy one with few customers. The idea is that they can get maybe 1 or 2 bottles ordered for you before the big chains get them. And now they have 100 to 200 pills all mostly yours since they don't have the amount of patients CVS would have.

So you can get a refill for a few months before they need to re order or refill their stocks.

Be warned though if they have to order it for you and you don't refill until those 100 pills are gone, the pharmacy is stuck with a supply of medications they can't sell. That might make them hesitant to even risk ordering a controlled substance, so be nice to them and remember they're trying to run a family business don't jump ship to another pharmacy after the shortage is over.

I can tell you that Walmart and Walgreens use the same distributor. CVS and Rite Aid use the same distributor. So basically if CVS can’t get it Rite Aid probably cannot get it either

The first time I encountered a shortage I actually contacted the manufacturer itself and I asked them what pharmacy within 100 mile radius of my ZIP Code have they supplied recently. They were able to search their database and tell me they were none, so at least it saved me from calling individual locations.

I don’t know why the manufacturer doesn’t make more. 76 and don’t take them any more but they always run out when I did. Attention deficit is real and they help day to day life especially when you still work.

It’s mid Oct 2024 and I just filled mine at a wallgreens they had Teva which I prefer.

I learned from the pharmacist that Walgreens and Walmart use the same distributor, then Rite Aid and CVS use a different distributor but they share one.

So basically if you can’t get any from Rite Aid, CVS probably won’t have them either but Walgreens or Walmart might.

It’s not up to them our federal government will only release a certain amount of the active ingredient every year. And I remember last year even though they started having a shortage in August our government decided they would only be allowed the same amount this year that that they had last year.

This is on the president and the DEA/FDA. Choose wisely when you vote. Don’t vote for science denying weirdos who want to take us back to 1950.
