I started mono linyah 2 days before my cycle was due to start as my doctor told me to my cycle usually last 7 days I'm past my 7 days now and the bleeding is getting heavier and the cramps more painful. How long will my cycle be on? I'm on week 2 of my bc pack.

Hello, Renay! How are you?

Yes, that can happen, when you are new to taking oral contraceptives. As listed by the FDA, you may also experience nausea, headache, dizziness and weight changes.

Since you started 2 days before your period was due, rather than the day your period started, you've likely thrown off your hormonal balance and it will likely take awhile for this to settle back down.

However, if the cramping gets too severe and the bleeding too heavy, you should consult your doctor as this may not be the right OC for you to take.

Is there anything else I can help with?
