Hi my dr gave me meds to start my period because I ha surgery to have one of my Fallopian tubes removed and cysts removed and hadn't had a period since. Once I started bleeding I started taking ortho tri cyclen lo and that started 2 an a half weeks of heavy bleeding. So he switched me to lo estrin I've been on it for two weeks and I'm bleeding through 2 pads during the day and one at night I stopped the pill on my own because I got scared of all the bleeding. The problem is the bleeding hasn't stopped its actually getting worse. It's the weekend so I can't go to my dr till tomorrow at the earliest just wondering if anyone thinks I should do a catch up and go ahead and take the two pills I didn't take. I just want the bleeding to stop I want to have a regular flow again thanks

Hi Angel,

The Lo Loestrin Patient Prescribing Information notes the following details, with regards to heavy bleeding:

"When you take Lo Loestrin Fe you may have
bleeding and spotting between periods, called unscheduled bleeding. Approximately half of the women who use Lo Loestrin Fe have unscheduled bleeding or spotting in the first months of use, and about one-third of users continue to have unscheduled bleeding or spotting after one year of use. If the unscheduled
bleeding or spotting is heavy or lasts for more than a few days, you should discuss this with your healthcare provider."

I hope this info can help shed some light on what might be going on there!
