Headache Relief

I used to have a really bad headache that lasted the whole day. Sometimes it hurt so much that I started beating my head, but when i concentrate on a specific thing I'll feel relaxed. Even a small harsh voice would irritate me to such an extent that I cry out! HELP ME!

I'm seeking relief for a chronic daily headache. After 35 years and numerous treatments, I wonder if there is a cure (short of a labodomy) for this condition that takes over your life. We have medication that is a little help but does not eliminate the headache that can easily turn into a migraine. Reply to: xxxxx@xxx {edited for privacy}

I am 61...sadly, headaches in the front bones of my face since I was really a young child. Namely, right inside upper orbital bone. After WAY too much aspirin as a child, then acetaminophen in double dose for days and nights on end, I read the one millionth thing to try. Pepto Bismol! I've barely had one get out out of hand since. Take as soon as you feel one along with an acetaminophen (I take a double dose of PB) or if one wakes you up as mine usually work. Nasty pain. No sleep. But dulls down to nothing usually. So a store brand version of PB is in my night stand. I pray it works for everyone.

My mom died because of a brain tumor. At first, she was experiencing a severe headache from time to time. We went to a doctor to ask what's happening to her but they said it's only a migraine, so he gave her a medicine to help cure the pain. She was bedridden at that time. 1 month later when we were busy with something I heard my mom shout because of her head and at that point we ran to the nearest hospital but sadly her journey is over. Yes, she died when that thing happened to her. We don't know who's fault it was, because the doctor in that hospital told us she had a brain tumor and all this time we only knew that it was a simple migraine. It's been 11 years now but i still remember what happened to her. I am experiencing a migraine now and I am afraid maybe one of these days it can happen to me also. But I saw that maybe marijuana can cure a migraine... I don't know if this thing works so I want an opinion here. If somebody uses it already? Can you help me with this?

Try Pepto Bismol. I'm not joking. Aspirin quit helping my headaches when I was a child, back when it was really acetylsalicylic acid (adult aspirin in Orange flavor). Now we know Reyes Syndrome in children is caused by that! Active ingredient changed for decades.
So, for decades, a headache often woke me at 3 AM. Not fun. Nothing but steam vaporizers, acetaminophen and very hot moist heat on my face helped . Oh, and hot caffeinated coffee. Somewhat.
Had intense pain around my right eye. Doctors all wanted to Rx stuff.
Then a netti pot helped awhile. Extreme use, plus acetaminophen. That quit working after a year or so.
Then...I tried Peptobismol at the onset of one, or when one wakes me at night. Along with acetaminophen. I've been on the verge of several, the usual number of them, since. But PB along with aceta. and in the morning, caffeine (I now drink only decaf unless).
The one headache that was about half as bad, lasted half as long, I'm sure was from 2 glasses of really cheap wine.
Try it, pass the info along to EVERYbody.

I am so very sorry. And it wouldn't hurt to report the doctors who blew off your mom's pain as a migraine. Damned doctors hit the simplest diagnosis, or swear it is something in the realm of their particular specialty. I've been their victim before, too. And kept my dad from being murdered by incompetence, no care attitude, milking the insurance, ignoring things I told them were in his medical files, and a dozen more things. It took over 10 weeks of 24/7 being there to do it. But they still got him in the end, after his accident recovery. He fell, the hospital said he had 2 broken ribs and sent him home (I lived 900 miles away). That night he was in seizure then coma never to come out of.
HE HAD 7 BROKEN RIBS, AND BLEEDING IN THE BRAIN...they overlook a lot.
