Hi ya'll
Well I've been a recovering addict for many years always considered strong both in both body and spirit. I recently lost 2 close family members and at 53 am basically the only one left. Recently I've become so petrified of everything almost agoraphobic.afraid of answering the phone or the door hate interacting with the world.I fear I'm going insane. It's so embarrassing to admitt this fear but it's almost paralyzingly horrible. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this?? Any advice or comments I just feel sort of detached . Thanks for reading my sad diatribe.

You are not the first person to experience such issues, and I can assure you that you will not be the last. Struggles and losses can affect us all in many different ways, which I guess is just part of the adventure of living a life.
There are therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and medications that may help you, according to NIH reports.
Yes, it isn't easy to go out the door and get yourself to a therapist, or counselor that can help, but it is absolutely necessary that you do so, for your own well being.
Are you currently on any medications?
