Has Forteo Ever Restarted Menstruation?

Age 49. I've had 18 months of no cycle. On Forteo for 3 weeks and suddenly I wake to menstrual bleeding? Anyone else experience this?

Hello Marika,

According to the NIH Forteo page (sections 5 and 6) and the Forteo website this is not listed as a common/known side effect associated with Forteo. The Forteo website "encourages you to report negative side effects of Prescription drugs to the FDA Visit www.fda.gov/­medwatch or call 1-800-FDA-1088". I recommend that you discuss this issue with your primary care doctor immediately as this could be a more threatening issue than simple menstrual bleeding.
