Wikipedia has an excellent article on Alcohol. It states that Alcohol does not have a typical "half life" as other drugs do, but it is eliminated from the blood stream at a constant rate. ("ethanol does not have an elimination half-life (i.e., is not metabolized at an exponential rate), and instead, is eliminated from the circulation at a constant rate.")

It also says "The mean elimination rates for ethanol are 15 mg/dL per hour for men and 18 mg/dL per hour for women, with a range of 10 to 34 mg/dL per hour."

Duration of action: 6 - 16 hours, but "Ethanol or its metabolites may be detectable in urine for up to 96 hours (3-5 days) after ingestion"
