Hair Loss From Zoloft (Top voted first)

Has anybody experienced hair loss or thinning after being on zoloft? Nobody has baldness or hair loss in my family and I have been losing hair since I started zoloft. My hair is also getting thinner and I am getting the whole receding hair line thing. My dad and his dad do not even have that nor any of my older brothers. I hate these damned side effects!!

Well if you look at the side effects for zoloft (sentraline) it does say that hair loss is a sign of overdose. That means it DOES have the ability to cause hair loss. The question is at what dose? SSRIs are definitely known to cause hair loss.

I apologize for that you are right, hair loss is listed as a serious side effect from overdosing on Zoloft (Sertraline). I am very sorry I missed that. After researching and notifying the company, I did find that that is true.

All antidepressants, including Zoloft, can cause hair loss and massive weight gain.

From what I was able to gather hair loss is not listed as a side effect from taking Zoloft. Are you on any other medications?

I am getting Prolia shots every 6 months for the last 4 to 5 yrs, The hair loss is getting much worse rapidly, Is the prolia causing it? I took actenol for about a yr. it caused alopecia, I went off it and the hair started growing back after 6 months. I am now thinking I need to drop the prolia, I am worried sick I will be bald if this continues.
