Stopped taking Macrobid on day five in order to complete a gastric emptying scan. I resumed taking it on day six. I have four days left to complete my 10 day UTI treatment. Have I compromised it's effectiveness? So far, it seems to have worked wonders on my UTI. Thank you for your response-just worried I won't get rid of this nasty bug.

I'd suggest checking with your doctor to be sure, you may need to do another full course of treatment.
The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
