Help I'm Running Out Of Pristiq

Greetings! I've been on 50mg Pristiq since October after hitting an incredible low after weaning off of Effexor the previous July.

Pristiq has worked really wonderful for me and I've suffered little to no side effects compared to when I was on Effexor; however, it's incredibly expensive and my withdrawl symptoms get dire pretty quickly. Due to broke I have resorted to getting meds from Mexico (so much cheaper! thank goodness for family that lives by the border). I have one more pill for tomorrow then I'll have maybe a 4 day lapse? Last time this happened things got ugly and I'm so afraid of that happening again. It's like I'm fine, stable, happy even and then about 12 hours after missing my dose I go into a suicidal spiral. Does anyone have any suggestions of how I can obtain a few pills (I do have a Rx but I do not have the ~$100 to get a full bottle)?

Has anyone else ever been in a similar circumstance? I'm located in the San Francisco Bay Area and I'm thinking I'm going to try researching how to obtain a free sample in the area to tide me until I get my meds (my psychiatrist does not have samples of pristiq unfortunately).

On a sidenote: How in the world do regular people afford this stuff??? None of the insurances I've had recently have covered it.

You don't have to get the full month's supply, at once, you can just purchase 4 days worth of tablets from your pharmacy and they will hold the rest for you to pick up in a few days, when you can afford it. You just need to explain the issue to your pharmacy.
