Has Anyone Switched From Suboxone To Naltrexone ?

I am currently on suboxone and have been on it for 7 years. I'm interested in switching to vivatrol (naltrexone). What I would like to know is can I switch without having to wait 2 weeks ?? I was a long time opiate patient and suboxone saved my life, but people have started stealing suboxone and this has happened to me. I figure they can't steal an inj. so maybe the shot would be better but I'm scared of the 2 week wait I keep hearing about.

Due to the fact that there is an opiate in the Suboxone, yes you will most likely have a waiting period, before you can start the Naltrexone.

The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including diarrhea and abdominal cramping.
