Hi micki,
To be completely honest, the reactions you're experiencing don't seem "normal" by any means, but are unfortunately side effects of Amoxicillin.
You should speak with your doctor immediately, so the condition doesn't worsen. He/she may need to prescribe a different antibiotic or lower the dosage. You may also want to consider taking a probiotic while on the antibiotic, to reinstate good bacteria in your body.
Have you had negative reactions with antibiotics before?
You can learn more about this drug on the page for Amoxicillin Details
No I've taken amoxicillin throughout my life and have never had these kind of reactions. Which is why I wasn't sure if they were normal. I'm confused as to why since my gum started bleeding that the swelling has gone down a bit but the pain started back up. I called my doctor and he said its normal but its definitely not normal for me. I'm still taking my pain meds when in all actuality I should've been able to stop taking them a couple days ago, at least that's how I feel. Being that I'm taking 3 different meds at the moment I didnt want to add more pills into my body for the probiotic so I stopped taking them but started eating yogurt being that the only things I've been able to eat are things I don't have to chew since I cant move the one side of my mouth.
I was put on clindamycin for a gum infection and I’m just wondering how long before it will help? I started it Sunday night and now it’s Tuesday morning and I don’t think it’s working. When will it start helping me? I take 300mg 3 times a day.
