Grilinctus Bm (paediatric Syrup)

My kid aged 4 years is suffering from cough specially when he gets up in the morning. Basic reason was cold, then he had cough and fever. Our doctor prescribed crocin dosage of 7.5ml each time he had fever and Grilinctus_BM (paediatric)for cough 3.75ml 3 times a day. Temperature became normal in 2 days. Then cough didn't stop and still I'm continuing the same cough syrup. ILots of mucus he spits out each time he coughs still he is not coming out of it. He is active,eats good. Is this cough syrup safe? Can I continue giving it?

You should never give a child anything without their doctor's approval, since it not safe to try to diagnose them yourself.

Ashwin, no this medication is not usually used to treat TB, it is most commonly used to treat bronchitis, and sinusitis.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, and headache. It is listed as containing Bromhexine, and Terbutaline.
