Glyciphage 500

I am suffering from Blood Sugar for last three years. Was on Homeopathy. Shifted to Allopathy last week.
July 2011 HbA1c was 8.6, Sept 2011 HbA1c 9.1. Been advised Glyciphage 500 - 2 Tabs per day. Is it okay ? Please confirm.
