I'm out of my metformin which I'm taking 1000 per day all have is 5mg glyburide which I take twice a day how long can I take it

How did you end up running out? When it's a life sustaining medication, such as Metformin, you can pick it up a few days early. For these ones you don't have to wait until you are out or the exact day it is due.

Have you called your doctor? Rather than switching, it would be best to have them phone you in a new prescription for your current medication.
