David, according to the link you provided Sprintec 28 contains pregelatinized starch, which could be derived from gluten.

It is best to contact the manufacturer before deciding to make a change in medicines. I am considering the NuvaRing because MOST if not ALL of my meds in the pill form contain pregelatinized starch and I am trying to minimize my exposure. Best of Luck, Theresa!
Hi Theresa,
The answer to your question is yes. I just came across a list Sprintec 28's inactive ingredients and did not find gluten to be mentioned anywhere.
If you follow the link below, you'll see a description of this specific pill and its contents near the top of the page, for your own verification:

I hope this helps!
Thanks Amber for catching that bit of information I happened to overlook! It can be frustrating trying to figure out where many of these ingredients really come from, so it's great to have that link as an additional point of reference for all medications.
I noticed you mentioned that pregelatinized starch "could" be derived from gluten. Do you know if there's any particular way for patients to definitively trace it back to gluten, or even request tablets that are gluten free?
Thanks again! :)
