Glucosamine Sulphate Related To Sulpha Drugs?
UpdatedI have been having knee problems and my doctor says I have slight cartilage damage which is probably due to osteo arthritis. I am not a big fan of meds, but heard that glucosamine sulphate can be helpful in these cases. My main concern is that I have a severe allergy to Sulpha drugs ( the antibiotics ) and was wondering if the two are related in any way. I would hate to have a reaction from it. As well are there any side effects from Glucosamine sulphate. Someone said it can be hard on your stomach. Is this true? Thank you

Hello, Elle! How are you?
It is a different compound and not a sulfa drug like those that usually spark allergies, so it should be fine, but double checking with your doctor would be a great idea.
As listed by the FDA, it isn't known to cause many side effects, other than some slight nausea.
Is there anything else I can help with?
