Amoxicillin is an antibiotic similar to Penicillin; they both contain sulfur, and have a similar taste (very unpleasant) and sulfur odor (easily detected during urination). Both are effective for upper respiratory tract infections. Amoxicillin sold under the brand name GIMALXINA is COUNTERFEIT (I do not mean generic, I mean a PLACEBO or FAKE). It may even HARM you.

Counterfeit Drugs are estimated to steal over $50 Billion each year from consumers. Many of these Counterfeit Drugs are sold over the internet. You really have no recourse of action when getting drugs in this manner, especially from another country. Gimalxina Amoxicillina is made in Mexico, but sold by numerous internet companies; it is FAKE as are many drugs made in Mexico. Do Not Waste your money on Counterfeit, Fake Gimalxina Amoxicillin. Go to your local pharmacy, many will give it to you for FREE!

Gimalxina may just be a question of potency or inconsistent batches due to looser regulations. I don't know what Mexico's FDA equivalent is or if they even have one providing similar oversight across the different pharmaceutical companies, but just something to consider as a possibility I suppose.

As to the original poster, Scott, I wouldn't trust any web-based pharmacy no matter what Rx it is. Going in person to Mexico vs the internet is a big difference, especially for those who are naturally bi-lingual (english/spanish) and can ask the local pharmacies about their medications.

Gimalxina is NOT FAKE! It is Amoxicillin that can be bought in Mexican Pharmacies. It is made by Collins Pharmaceuticals in Jalisco, Mexico. It is regularly prescribed by doctors all over Mexico.

I bought it in Mexico and a year later I used it on a 3week old nasty upper and lower respiratory infection that was getting worse. I took 1 capsule twice a day for 11days. Immediately got better. But took the whole 11 days to completely clear. How can it be fake? I just finished it today.
