Gimalxina Amoxicilina 500 Mg
UpdatedI have taken amoxicilina many times during my life; bought in the US and in Honduras. This last week I got a bottle of 60 capsulas while in Cozumel, to complete my antibiotic treatment (I lost the previous amoxi I was taking). I am very familiar with the smell and taste of amoxicilina and penicillin. I open the capsules when I take it, it tastes bad, and has a unique taste & smell (also in urine). The current bottle I just purchased, red & white capsulas, is a white powder with NO taste nor smell. Furthermore, it appears to have no affect on my sinusitis, and NO odor in urine. This is the first Amoxi I have ever taken that is like this (no taste & no odor. So common sense tells me I HAVE BEEN ROBBED. If this is COUNTERFEIT Amoxi, we need to STOP ITS SALE. The bottle I have says, "Hecho en Mexico por: Productos Farmaceuticos. Distribudo por: Grupo Farmaceutico. Who actually makes this? Where is it coming from? Who can we contact to investigate this?
Hello, Jimbo! Sorry that you're sick and seem to have gotten gypped on the medication.
The operative word here, however, is Mexico! No, there is no agency or anything to report it to and nothing that can be done. They have their own rules there, which can basically be summed up as: There are virtually no regulations for prescription drugs!
No one is going to investigate if you report this, no one is going to worry that perhaps you were sold placebos, or any such thing. This actually happens pretty regularly and is just one of the hazards of purchasing drugs that aren't FDA approved for the U.S. market.
I've taken it myself, I am well aware of the sulfur smell that they have and cause in your urine, their not having it definitely makes me suspicious, as well.
The best suggestion I can make is to see your doctor and get a prescription for a legitimate supple of it.
WARNING! AMOXICILLIN (Penicillin) from Mexico IS COUNTERFEIT if there is no sulfur smell. Amoxicillin (and Penicillin) are sulfur compounds, and yield a strong sulfur odor in sweat and urine. They also have a bad sulfur taste if you break them open to taste them. If no sulfur order is detected, you can bet they are placebos (counterfeit) and you have been robbed and deceived. The brand (trademark) Gimalxina, made in Mexico, has been identified as one of Mexico's many counterfeit (placebo, i.e. fake) drugs. DO NOT waste your money or RISK your health with drugs that are not FDA approved or made in Mexico. They won't help your illness and can even harm you!
I have the same ones and they seem to work. I do not open them up so I would not know about the smell! Got mine in Cabo.
So I'm confused; counterfeit or not? Who is ART ? He is saying it is; but if you type in Gimalxina amoxicilina; it tells about it.
Or is it only counterfeit if bought in Mexico?
I have several packages of 10 sealed in an aluminum packet of red/white capsules that have amoxicillin capsules IP 500 mg Unimax 500 stamped on package, nothing on the red/white capsule. I have taken for 4 days now with no improvement in dental infection. I too noticed the missing smell(on urine) and taste, I just cut one open, very tough to cut and had a slight smell and white powder. Are these legit? Usually dentist prescribes amoxicillin and knocks out a tooth ache in s few days, would appreciate any help/advice.
Not really, this is a semisynthetic type of penicillin, so that could be the reason you dont get that smell that penicilling has
This company Collins is well known in the pharmaceutical community for fraud and counterfeit medications. Someone needs to go down to Zapatlan and clean house and sue the owner of this company. I sent a box of twelve 500mg caps to Bayer for HPLC analyses. Shamatzu High Performance Liquid Gas Chromatography. The caps contained no antibiotics. Accession #7757648/2017-05. You may call Salude de Mexico... Pills are 100% fake...

Did your test determine what the substance is in that brand of Amoxicillin? Does that company brand even make a legal antibiotic drug?
I have had no less than 3 Amoxicillin CLAV prescriptions that were nothing more than calk. No taste and no results. Two from Walmart and one from Walgreens. Amoxicillin has been my go to antibiotic for tooth problems. It had no side affects for me and worked quickly. Nothing else is as good for me. Sure wish I could still get it. Last prescription was almost $70.00, for a little bottle of calk!
On a trip to Ensenada, Mexico, we were taken to the area known as the "Blowhole" which is a 1/4 mile long collection of so called bargain stores. Among them was a pharmacy that sold all the popular known prescription drugs, but they were available over-the-counter. Among them is a widely distributed brand called Gimalxina, which turned out to be pure placebo products, such as the popular Amoxicillin. Since the area caters to mostly US tourists, all too many buy these phony rip off products and only realize they were taken when they get back to the states. It seems Mexico does not control the sale of phony drugs and allows countless "pharmacies" to operate without any laws to stop them. As the saying goes "Buyer beware" or if it's too good to be real, it generally isn't. All medications have codes printed on each pill or tablet, but not these, so insist on seeing the medication or asking for proof they are the real thing. Better yet, avoid Mexican medications altogether.
Go to the pet store and tell them your fish is sick. The fish and ppl meds are the same stuff lol. It's an old trick.

I have made several efforts to try and find anyone that can verify or even test these products for accuracy, but other than all those that share their experiences on the internet, the extent of this Mexican fraud continues unabated. Since there is simply too much money to be made, the Mexican authorities treat it with a blind eye and all those that can barely afford the excessive cost of drugs in this country keep looking south for some relief. The majority of blame for all this, mainly lies in the U.S., caused by a total greed from big pharma that is backed by our paid off government representatives that share in these excessive profits. Bring drugs in this country in line with normal costs around the world and the problem will solve itself.
So far no one has come up with a practical way to either test Mexican drugs or determine if they are counterfeit by the packaging or lack of codes on the individual medications. Big pharma in America makes every effort to get their lobbyists in Washington to pass laws that will prevent the out of country purchases of their overpriced products or even those legal drugs made in other countries. Instead of bringing drug prices in the U.S. in line with world prices elsewhere, they chose to maintain their excess profits and force Americans to shop elsewhere. This in turn creates a growing industry of counterfeit drugs all over the world. Mexico being one of the nearest sources, has created one of the largest amounts of phony medications, due to their extreme lack of control. Even the many deaths that are reported constantly, does not change the laws, but rather allows the enormous profits to continue. Until someone can stop the proliferation of these dangerous counterfeit drugs, big pharma comes out the winner. Stopping lobbyists from all that payola, might be a start.
If you bought a black box with flowers on it this is it. Amoxicillin are also known as Gimlixina by Grupo Pharmaceuticals in Mexico. These pills were purchased at the Santa Teresa Pharmacy located on 2nd Street and revolution in Tijuana. These pills were analyzed by laboratorios chop-o. The results of the analyzation was found to be plaster pads and plasterboard. There are no antibiotics in the pills whatsoever. I confronted the Santa Teresa Pharmacy with this and showed them where on the internet it showed these pills are fake. I paid 80 pesos for these pills that were not antibiotics and my condition is worse.
Re: Joho (# 14)
Your one of countless victims of fraudulent drugs sold not only in Mexico, but all over the world. All due to the never ending greed of "Big Pharma" in this country. They forced too many people to buy dangerous drugs in other countries, since most could no longer afford the drugs they needed to survive here. Nobody knows how many deaths that has caused. Some of this can also be blamed on our politicians that accept millions in bribes to look the other way instead of regulating the out of control drug industry. Desperate people will continue to find cheaper ways to buy life-sustaining drugs elsewhere and the death rate will continue to climb.

I just took two Amoxicilina of 500mg and I’m 6 weeks and one day pregnant could that harm my baby????
Re: dotty dot (# 3)
I just filled the exact same script today in Cozumel and when I opened one up, it not only HAS the sulfur odor, but the bitter taste of it as well. I guess it's the "luck of the draw" where you buy them at.
Unfortunately, there is no one you can report it to and you can't stop its sale. You can confront the owner of the store you bought it from, but they won't care either. It's the chance you take when you buy outside of the U.S. Some people get 'lucky' - others get ripped off! Sad but true! The one I bought earlier this month in Cozumel I got 'lucky' with! I ran out of my script for my bronchitis while on a cruise and bought it there. It had the smell, the taste, the smell in my urine....and it worked. Paid $16 for it! GOT LUCKY!
I have had no results from these gimalxina, amoxicilana.
Just looked them up and came across these comments. What should the powder look like or should they have an odour ?
Thanks

Be wary! The cartels aren’t blind to the billions upon billions big pharma make each year. Trust and believe they have their own “generic” copies of a whole list of very popular and highly prescribed medications, (not just narcotics). The pharmacist or shop owner will know most of the time what they are selling (cheaper from the bad guys). Usually if you ask to talk to the lead pharmacist or whoever is in charge with questions emphasize the importance of getting true medication and and be willing to pay a few extra bucks in some cases. Then once you know you’ve found the real thing, bring the empty box and contents with you to compare in the future. A very dangerous, unethical and saddening reality there but unfortunately it is the reality at least for now. Just avoid being in a situation of running out of medications there. Hope this helps!

Hi, my Gimalxina smells like sulfee
I bought Gimalxina in Cancun and they are fake. I lived in San Jose Del Cabo for years and I am very educated on buying prescription drugs in Mexico. I thought these would be fake when I purchased them but a friend needed it and it was only brand they had. You need to do your homework first before buying medication in Mexican pharmacies. You should always buy Mexican version of Big Pharma company brands like if buying Valium for example buy Bayer with pills in 10 strip 2 to a box instead of generic Mexican variants. I would also stay away from tourist zone pharmacies go to pharmacies the locals use.

Me too. I got mine in (Puerto Vallarta) Mexico this year. I feel that I was robbed also.
I have a bottle from Mexico of this Gimalxina-Amoxicilina (lot number 21240151) and am wondering if it is a placebo. The pills are red/white and have no smell. I tried contacting the company with no luck. Anyone know if this is placebo? I got them from a pharmacy in PUERTO VALLARTA.
