Getting Ready To Take A Prolia Shot

My Oncologist wants me to start Prolia injections in june but my regular doctor is concerned because I take Benacar for high blood pressure and says that Benacar can cause kidney problems and is worried about me taking Prolia as it can cause kidney problems and since i have had kidney failure in the past it could cause me more problems. Should I take Prolia or not? Just wondering. I also need some teeth pulled before I get the shot. I had breast cancer 5 years ago and did Chemo Radiation and had surgery to remove the breast. I am 61 years old. Please give me some insight.

If possible, it would be good to get these two doctors to discuss it, together, so they can mutually decide what would be best for you.

Prolia can be problematic, because it does tend to cause troubling side effects for many people that take it, and those issues can linger for quite awhile, after taking it. My mother-in-law made it two doses in, and had to stop taking it.

That said, in reality, neither the Benicar, nor the Prolia, are the only options available to treat their respective conditions, so you might also want to ask your doctor what your other options might be regarding treatment.
