Getting Pregnant On Implanon? (Top voted first)
UpdatedI was wondering if anyone has heard of beng pregnant on implanon? I've had it in for over a year. It made my periods last longer and heavier. Well I haven't had it for 2 months now (I know it can stop) but the last week I've felt really light headed. I've had really sore boobs and will randomly feel sick to the stomach and certain smells cause it... please give me your advice

Hi Dallas,
To my understanding, it can sometimes take up to a few months to get hormonal contraceptives completely out of your system. So based on your description, it sounds to me like your hormones may have just been fluctuating throughout the time you stopped using the medication (possibly resulting in those side effects). I could be wrong in assuming that, so I would definitely encourage you to speak with your gynecologist for further advice if the symptoms become too bothersome or severe. However to answer your initial question, yes, people have gotten pregnant on Implanon. The manufacturer's webpage notes that "when the Implanon implant is placed correctly, your chance of getting pregnant is very low (less than one pregnancy per 100 women who use Implanon for one year)."
I hope this info helps!
Hi, I was suppose to have my implanon removed in April. However I want to get another one put in and it has not come in yet so my office will not take this one out until my new one comes in. I have been having symptoms for a couple weeks now but they keep dismissing them. I'm experiencing nausea, some vomiting, tired, sore boobs, gaining weight. But the last UA was negative and they won't do blood work or an ultrasound. Can someone give me some advice on what to do..?
Hello Bee! How are you?
The symptoms you're experiencing could be due the hormone in the Implanon no longer being present.
However, if you're afraid that you're pregnant, you could do your own UA, or try seeing a different doctor or going to a planned parenthood office.
The FDA lists the typical side effects of Implanon as possibly including dizziness, headache, breakthrough bleeding and irritability.
Is there anything else I can help with?
Hi, I was supposed to take my implanon out Nov. 8 but I took it out today (Dec 7). In that time I had my first period in 6 years around thanksgiving. Now my boyfriend and I were intimate and did not use protection. I started my period early that same night. I took it out Dec, now it's heavier. I have a headache and I feel like I'm drained. I just want to confirm since I got my period there is no chance of pregnancy because my doctor asked if we took precautions but I am remembering that we didn't really.
I had my last period on the 15th of dec 2016 and I had the implanon removed on the 11th of january 2017 and had intercourse the same day. Still now I haven't seen my period. Can I be pregnant?

Hello, has anyone here tried having implanon even if you're not a mom yet? Someone said that I will be struggling to get pregnant whenever I want to after the implant is removed. Do you have to be a mom first to get implanon? I'm worried. Thanks.
