Getting A Ligitiment Refil For Pain Meds In Different State
UpdatedHello. Hope someone can help me. I'm 35 years old from CO professional skier. I had a total of 3 lumbar back surgeries since mid Augest. I am healing well but still have many nights sleepless because of pain. Most resent surgery was only 3 weeks ago. I came to my parent home in Newport Beach CA to recover. My doctor at the University of Colorado Spine center sent with me a totally 100% legitimate prescription for 10 mg Oxycodone. It's the real original sheet complete with his signature, DEA and licence number and all the security features. I've been to several Walgreens/CVS, etc. and they keep insisting they can't fill a out of state written prescription here in CA. Please any advice/suggestion ASAP. Havnt been able to sleep in 3 nights and really disrupting my bodies natural healing process. Thanks

I'm very sorry about the problems you're having.
However, that is very common, when it comes to controlled substances, pharmacies will not fill out of state prescriptions, since it can be very difficult to verify their legitimacy. The DEA does have certain requirements, so most places will just refuse to fill them, if it isn't from a local doctor that they are familiar with.
The best thing to do would be to see a local doctor and explain the problem.
Is there anything else I can help with?
Hi~
If your prescription is legal. And your doctor knows you are going out of state and you go to a CVS or Walmart or Walgreens. They will fill your prescription. All they have to do is call your provider that prescribes your opiate prescription and there will be no problems getting it filled. Trust me this as happened to me several times. Easy breezy as long as it is a legal prescription. You will have no problem. No worries. Good wishes.
Cali will unfortunately not fill ANY scripts for controlled substances that are written by a Dr outside of California. You will need to make an appt with a Dr there, take your prescription and explain your situation, they can verify this by calling your Dr/surgeon back home but they will no longer fill any CII scripts from any dr outside the state. Sorry and good luck.
