Getting Midrin
(Newest replies first)

I have used Midrin sometimes over the last 30 years for migraines. Then I could not find any. Midrin is the only thing that works for me. I had a severe migraine that lasted 10 days and I now have a blind spot where the flashing lights were for all that time. The eye doctor I saw 24 hours into this did not find anything serious, because the effect is in the part of the brain that processes vision. I finally found out about compounding pharmacies and my doctor wrote the prescription for the 3 ingredients: C-Acet 325mg/dichloralphena/isometh65mg
I found a compounding pharmacy in my area. The prescription was faxed to them with my pharmacy insurance info. I picked it up the same day.
My insurance covered it with a somewhat higher co-pay.
Midrin has been made hard to get as it was not tested so thoroughly when put on the market in 1962.
I recommend that you find your nearest compounding pharmacy, find a doctor that will write the prescription in the way they need and check what coverage you have prior to needing it, and have it filled, so you can have it on hand and avoid long term adverse effects of an untreated migraine.

Macoven Pharmeceuticals is manufacturing the generic
I'm very glad that you've both found solutions to the problem, I hate to see anyone suffering and the recent crackdown on medications has created such issues all over the U.S.
Learn more Midrin details here.
Teresa, can you post back with who the manufacturer is? Or if it isn't on the bottle, then provide any details on them that you can, such as the markings on them and I'll try to find it. Thanks!
