Getting Contrave Prescribed Through An Online Doctor

After finding no info about what the online doctor visit through the Contrave website entails I want to let anyone who is thinking about trying to go that route know about it. At 1pm I completed paying for everything. A few minutes later I received a text message saying it may take up to 2 days to receive a call from the doctor so make sure I was able to answer. At 7pm the doctor called. This is what she asked:

-If I was on any meds, including OTC meds? (My answer: No)
-If I smoke, drink or use recreational substances? (No to all)
-When was the last time I took my blood pressure? (A week ago)
-What was the reading? (110/70)
-Have I ever had any blood tests? (Yes)
-When and what kind of test? (6 months ago - CBC - (COMPLETE BLOOD COUNT))
-What were the readings? (Everything was normal)

She then said I was a perfect candidate for Contrave and explained the dosing and possible side effects and said I should see my doctor if I had complications. Then she said I will be receiving my first month's Rx in the mail in about a week. And we were done. I received my pills in about 4 days. I am not sure if she would of insisted I have a blood test if I had not had one. But I am glad I did. I am the type of person that will research things like this so I am not in the dark. Hopefully this will help someone out in case they are wondering how it works. Good luck to all. And as a side note: I am using the My Fitness Pal app to help me keep track of my calories and walking time. It is the best thing I've ever done. I highly recommend it.

Awesome! Thank you for providing others with such great advice. According to what I've read, they also provide free shipping, if it is prescribed this way, which will save a few $$ for most people.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, nervousness, headache, insomnia, and anorexia.

Are you on any other medications?

Your welcome! You are right the shipping is free..unless you want it within a day or two. Then it's about $32.00. I am a patient person so I was fine waiting a couple extra days. You will be signed up for automatic payments and shipping of meds every month. They send you an email letting you know when and if you need to change your payment method. It's all very user-friendly. I am on thyroid pills...and Benadryl for sleep. I used to take tramadol for pain in my left arm that was crushed yes ago. I stopped and put up with the pain. But I noticed the pain is almost gone. I believe it is the naloxone as low doses of it are being used to treat various kinds of pain. This is a wonderful benefit and makes my liver happy. My side effects were/are... slight nausea lasted for about a week. (Drank milk and/or diet ginger ale - they helped a lot!) Constipation (drink CVS brand Powerlax..it takes about 22 hours to work so I time it to where I am not sleeping or out doing errands when it kicks in)
My restless leg syndrome is also almost gone after 3 weeks. Do not know if it's because I have more energy or just a great side effect. All in all, it's been a very positive experience. I've lost 5.5 pounds in 3 weeks. If I stop losing I may try Belviq. Good luck to all who take the same journey.

Oops, I goofed up...I meant naltrexone...not naloxone. Sorry. I also want to add. I bought a Weight Watchers digital scale at Walmart for $22.00. It's great...it measures Weight, BMI, Body fat, Water/Hydration levels & Bone mass - for up to 4 users. It is helping me keep motivated when I want to eat an extra helping. I've been able to see how my weight fluctuates during the day. Which makes me realize that it took me many months to gain the weight so it will take some to lose it...to not expect miracles. Just be patient and good things will come.

I forgot about the fatigue I experienced when I started contrave. The first 3 days of each dose change, I was very tired, could barely keep my eyes open. So I just slept until about the 4th day I felt fine. I figured it's better to sleep because at least I won't be eating...and sleeping is better than being awake and hungry. Though each new dose I did get a bit more hungry for the first day...after that I wasn't hungry. Hope this helps all who may have similar experiences...just keep on keeping on! :-)

I just want to let anyone know that I received my 2nd mail-order Rx...it was ordered on April 4th... delivered April 6th. Free shipping once again. (From Arizona to Florida) They estimated delivery on April 7th. I've found that taking my first dose at 8 am and 2nd at 4pm works best for me because I am sleeping thru the 3rd 8 hour period of cravings. If that makes sense. Meaning I divided the day into 3 - 8 hour periods. So I take them 8 hours apart because it seems to lose effect at about the 8 hour mark. Hope this helps anyone out there.

Thank you for your great informative post... I could stand to lose some weight so I did a little research on this drug and was surprised to find out that half of it is Wellbutrin. I only take one drug and it is generic Wellbutrin so obviously this would not work for me.
