Generic Yellow Hydrocodone
UpdatedI am used to taking the Yellow, generic 10/325 hydrocodone for a long time for chronic back pain from a car accident. They worked fine. Then I moved to LaSalle County in Illinois and they gave me white ones, three times. I know Watson was bought out by Activas. The worst white ones were from Walgreens! Does anyone know the manufacturer of the generic yellow hydrocodone / acetaminophen 10/325? And there is a BIG difference in pain relief regarding generic pain relievers!

Unfortunately, the colors don't mean anything, so that is not enough for information for anyone to research this for you.
Can you please post back with the markings on the tablets in question? That would enable someone to look into this for you. Thank you!
As to possible differences, under the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984, generics are allowed to differ from the name brand, in the amount of the active ingredients, by as much as plus or minus 20%. The FDA considers this an acceptable therapeutic window. However, generics do not have to measure against each other, only against the name brand, so it is possible for you to suddenly receive one that is lower in the amount of the active ingredient(s), so it may not work as well for you.
The FDA also warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.
I was blessed and got Qualitest yellow. These actually kill pain and don't upset my stomach! They are hard to find now but before you fill call the pharmacy because when you have extreme pain you need something that works and doesn't tear your stomach up. I would love a reply from someone who has chronic pain. We are talking quality of life!
It's Qualitest. I've been on them from all my surgeries and the "3601 V" yellow tablet works a lot better than the "m367".
Qualitest was bought out by Par pharmaceuticals which is owned by another parent drug company (could be Endocet but not sure). I got Par 10/325 and they didn't work & were white & round, not yellow football shaped (nfl) & were made in the NY facility then went south & got the yellows.... So I am not sure if they segregate which ones go where due to shipping cost as yellows are made in the south...???...but hey what do I know? Check some other hydrocodone threads. There are a bunch of them and there is good info in most of them.
