Generic Hydrocodone Question

I filled my prescription at my pharmacy that I always use and I received a different brand marked 10/325 RP. Didn’t think anything of it or notice until I checked due to me not feeling any difference in my pain level after an hour and I usually feeling a big difference after 30 mins. My concern is that this is a less effective knock off of hydrocodone and isn’t going to keep my chronic neck and back pain under control. Has anyone experienced this with this brand? Am I able to go back to the pharmacy with my concerns and ask for a non generic. I don’t see the use in taking a pain medication that isn’t providing the same level of relief. Thanks!

What you've received are Rhodes Pharmaceuticals Hydrocodone (NDC 42858-0203).

There have been many complaints about this particular manufacturer and the efficacy of their narcotic analgesics has been brought into question many times including their oxycodone variation. What you're experiencing seems to be quite common with this particular manufacturer, unfortunately.

Once you leave the pharmacy with the pills the pharmacy will not accept a return or switch them out for you. Unfortunately most doctors won't write a new script and even if they did you probably wouldn't be able to get them filled until the previous filled supply runs out.

It's becoming increasingly important to become familiar with pain medication manufacturers and check which manufacturer you're getting before you sign/pay for it. Wish you the best of luck in dealing with your pain. You may try adding some ibuprofen with them. It may help a bit.
