Generic Subutex/buprenorphine - Which Manufacturer Do You Prefer? (Page 2) (Top voted first)

Updated

Hello All,

I recently just got changed from suboxone to subutex due to a pretty bad allergic reaction to the naloxone in the suboxone. Basically my question for everyone is which generic do you guys prefer? My pharmacist can order any kind for me so at the moment I just got the Roxanne ones 8mg - they are white round tablets. This is my first day using and am already noticing my migraines are starting to subside, not fully, but starting to. So yeah if anyone has any suggestions please let me know all the ups and downs that you guys have been experiencing, thanks!

Good luck to one and all!

D

No they are speaking about Subutex, a newer brand. They are orange, have a crescent moon on one side and 153 on the other. This medicine DOES NOT contain Naloxone in it , and it is marketed as
. just 8mg of bupe by Brand Name ACTAVIS
They happen to be orange so most people's first assumption is that they are Suboxone but they could not be more wrong.

Anyways. It's not my favorite brand. My favorite is Roxane Labs, Walmart in Florida still has these for me every month.

Mylan was ok, they were just inconsistent. Some were way stronger and others were way weaker. Regardless, I found myself wanting more constantly. Never had that problem with any other brands except maybe hi tech a little. Ill stick to the Roxanne because its the best most consistent brand for me. Dont worry about Roxanne being discontinued. My pharmacist says itll never happen. Hi tech is the one being discontinued because of hundreds of complaints and nobody wants them.I still wanna try the orange ovals, however.

I just filled my script last night with 300 2mg roxannes. My pharmacist has agreed to keep 300 in stock now at all times so I have no troubles. The mylans have poor quality control and consistency but in general they work. I just cant afford to take a gamble if ill get a bunk dose. I have a heavy duty job and am father of three.

I have been on generic subutex13yrs. Roxane brand. No problems. Never could tell the difference really from original.. This is the only brand i will take. The rest are either full of fillers etc. Saved my life!

I agree with you texpert... So many people have it in their heads that they can use opiates after subutex but not suboxone... It took me not very long to understand that its bupe that is blocking the effects of opiates not naloxone. Right on with everything you stated.

I ended up with half a month of hi tech due to a pharmacy error. Man did that ever suck! I left my pharmacist a message to make sure he has 300 Roxanne 2mg for me on Thurs.

Just filled 8mg subutex by Roxane at Walmart. Walgreens has hi-tech brand. Not sure which works best for me. But either is WAY better than s***ty Suboxone. Literally made me sweat like a crack head.

Just wanted to add some helpful info. I have been on Subutex forever, over 10+yrs, I've tried all but continue to prefer the Roxanne brand. Now this is cool. You go to the site with NAABT.org. There's also a phone number associated with them. Download an Rx Savings card {edited for policy reasons}. It's up to pharmacies to honor it on controlled substances. All CVS's in my area Atl GA honor it. They carry this brand only but you could take it anywhere. I just know they honor it. My subs went from 347.00 for 90/8mg to 175.00. 60/8mg. We're 99.00. I think it's very cool. Good luck God bless

I'm in North Florida and the last 2 months I've not been able to fill my prescription at CVS; someone above wrote they were on backorder at their CVS and I was wondering if anyone has any info as to how much longer this "backorder" is going to take? I am able to fill at another pharmacy a mom and pops like place, but it is almost 3× the price. I'm self pay and cannot afford to continue paying so much for my meds. The only info I can find thru Google is a Canadian shortage which sites delivery issues or something to that effect. Also if anyone has ever filled a prescription for buprenorphine/Subutex via mail order I'd love to have the info, as this is way too stressful searching for pharmacies every month & is making me feel like I'm back on pills again. Completely ridiculous!

The Roxane54 411s are the way to go. Although they make a peach 8 mg oval subutex that's in my opinion stronger and lasts longer. There are white round 8mg 460s and there are the white round M694 also 8mgs. and last but not least tiny round white 8mg with an 8 in one side and an arrow on the other. Those don't have all the filler but are garbadge. From my opinion the best to worst in this order.
:moon crescent 153 peach subutex
:white 54 411 subutex
:white M964 subutex
:White 460 subutex
:white tiny 8 arrow subutex

I have to agree the new Mylan are the best generic subutex we have left since Roxane, bought by Wentworth pharmaceutical which manufacturers there brand the 460 white, are made in India@Sun pharmaceutical company. Ive said mylan was equivalent. They're definitely the best but still that kick is missing. They have more of a sedation effect I don't like. Maybe I need to adjust my dosage I take 24mgs a day and have for over12yrs. Its a shame our healthcare and insurance for meds all depends on what you have . Example: Medicare /United healthcare gets the lowest at the totum pole.Welcome to socialized medicine.

The Subutex that say 54 411 are made by West-Ward Pharmaceuticals now. I live in Indiana and I get them every month. All of the other ones I have found to be junk. The West-Ward brand only has two ingredients anhydrous and buprenorphine. The others have too many fillers. Especially the ones Made in India.

What your talking about are the orange round an 415 suboxone pill. Not subutex. Taking a roxie is just wasting it due to the naloxone blocking it. Your better off just putting the roxies up for another day.

I have personally taken subutex for about 4.5yrs now. I prefer the Roxanne 54-411 imprint or the Mylan ones with the M on them. The small and orange ones don't seem to work as well! It could be a placebo from taking the large ones for so long! But it just feels like they do not work for me!? You DO NOT GET SICK OR HIGH FROM SUBUTEX EITHER! I DO NOT CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS DIFFERENTLY. They are using other crap like pills or uppers still! Subutex saved my life. Why do I keep taking them? Because I'm the type of addict that if I slip once there will be no recourse until I'm in jail or prison AGAIN! I'd rather live a normal life without the thought of opiates than to ever go back!

I pay $104 for 60 8mgs at Walmart with a discount card. I downloaded every app that had a discount card and price checker and found the cheapest one. Then it will go up in 4 months or so and I just do the same routine again until I find another one that makes my script cheap. I have no insurance

I go to the Apple App Store and type in pharmacy discount card with price checker and I download every one I see and just go through all the apps. I get the westward ones. It doesn’t matter what brand u get. Even the Walmart employees always are shocked about the price. They say my price is cheaper then a lot of insurance’s

Your new doctor is an *****. As a 6 year patient of subutex and a mensa member with ocd, i study and read everything (i do that anyway about everything) and most physicians prefer and subscribe subutex over suboxone. In fact if you state that the drug has positive effects and was recommended to you they should jump for joy. Its nowhere near as dangerous as methadone. Also..the pills should be large orange football shaped 8mg pills (the subutex). The maker doesn't matter...the drug is regulated by the fda and it's in there. If you feel the small ones don't work as well......well it's all in your head. No fighting science. Good luck and don't give in....get subutex.

There are 7 generics for this medicine they make. They are as follows and in order of quality and efficiency..which Rhodes efficiency is 2x another which is good but if you are unable to find them the following month it may be a tiny bit hard dealing with any other as they are 2x leas potent and effective as the Rhodes / purdue generic: RP b8 2x as effective then others and hard to find for most.

1. Rhodes: mfg by Purdue 2x more potent and effective than even the Roxanne (westward 411s (surprising when I realized)- if u can find and get this brand of generic do so asap best one as demand is super high and supply low (imprint)- RP b8

2. Westward formerly Roxanne- 54 411. They have two formulations the one that is shinny and convexed a bit more and protrudes out more and is more shinny and not as chalky..these would be the old Roxanne ones westward are chalky Roxanne are much better and shinier but they have sifted through all the good ones by now. That's why you see a chalky one and a shiny 54 411 when looking. Lucky if you are able to find the old version that actually says Roxanne one the dispensed bottle get it and be lucky knowing they stopped making these shinny ones and would be worth getting if bottle said Roxanne still not westward (good luck)

3. Sun Pharma- 460 white circle
4. Mylan- M924
5. TEVA- B 799
6 Actavis- (teva owner)- crescent moon 153 Orange color. Least favorite I stay away from everything teva and actavis but preference.

7. Then at last we have the Hi -Tech Generic which is praised by many drug abusers. I have not tied this generic and may want to as I believe hi tech makes great medicines. Maybe one day I will try this generic. Anyways, I heard 50/50 feedback on these, half love them over any other and other half of people don't even think they work. so I'm not sure. If I get a chance to try this generic I will keep everyone posted.

There you have it, all the 7 makers of generic approved buprenorphine hcl 8mg. Again Rhodes is two times stronger than Roxanne-Westward. I will be sticking to Rhodes.

If you have any other question please feel free to ask. This was a 4 month search for me getting Rhodes. It can be hard but you have fam here. God bless the healthy.

Before I started following goozers.group I never thought to hunt around for any specific brand, just always accepted the orange half moons,..eww, for I have taken subutex, I never could understand why I always felt like I was in and out withdrawal? My doctor would give me clonadine and a nausea meds, .I learned from him to find the best buprenorphine product and only accept the best, after all this medacine does cost a good money.
I found Rhodes and for now hikma brand..since then I'm feeling so much better..
