Generic Subutex/buprenorphine - Which Manufacturer Do You Prefer? (Page 4)
(Newest replies first)

Hello All,
I recently just got changed from suboxone to subutex due to a pretty bad allergic reaction to the naloxone in the suboxone. Basically my question for everyone is which generic do you guys prefer? My pharmacist can order any kind for me so at the moment I just got the Roxanne ones 8mg - they are white round tablets. This is my first day using and am already noticing my migraines are starting to subside, not fully, but starting to. So yeah if anyone has any suggestions please let me know all the ups and downs that you guys have been experiencing, thanks!
Good luck to one and all!

Re: Robin (# 223)
what's the difference between n8 subutex and suboxone?
The 54 411 is the best Subutex. It is the only one that will give you the full effects you need for the reason of needing to be on subutex.
Re: Tesla33 (# 218)
Well my cvs is on back order for the Mylan but I had the option of hikam and I’m more then satisfied!! They are way better than Mylan!! I thought Mylan was great but I’m going to ask cvs to order Hikam for me from now on!! They are just like the old Roxanne’s!! Best thing to original subutex although i haven’t tried the Rhodes that everybody is raving about just seems like it’s a little difficult to find!! All I know is Hikam is amazing. I feel so clear headed and happy more then I have ever felt since being on generic subutex!! I want to try Rhodes but I called them and it seems like it kinda difficult to get in my area! Hikam is the best so far. Mylan is my next choice. Actavis orange footballs, stay away, they are the worst generic ever!! I still want to try Rhodes!!
Re: John (# 212)
Hey John, justbwanted to clarify something: Subutex is the name brand for Buprenorphine. Suboxone is the name brand for Buprenorphine with Naloxone in it.
Re: Goozer (# 220)
Has Teva come out with a new generic? Rhodes was the last generic to come out I think. Teva had a generic buprenorphine about 8 years ago but haven’t seen any since then.
Re: Goozer (# 211)
How do you go about doing that? Just comtacting pharmacies to see if they have them? If so what do you say?
Hello all,
I am writing a new post here to see what people are saying and thinking of the teva buprenorphine generic versus the new rhodes versus the mylan, as I see a lot of people like the mylan. I have always thought mylan and teva to be very cheap generic companies and inefficient quality and products especially with benzos. The more I research I see a lot of people like teva and mylan but since the new rhodes generic came out there has been no comparison to relate.
Can anyone provide feedback for which they prefer for their generic subutex out of all of them? The main three are:
Rhodes - r p b8
Teva- b 499
Mylan- m 924
Please provide feedback on teva generic compared to rhodes buprenorphine. It's been awhile (years) since anyone's commented on teva generic and rhodes is new. Any feedback would be great. I at the moment prefer rhodes out of all 7 generics made but have not tried teva.
Re: Tesla33 (# 218)
So the Rhodes are no good then? Do you go to cvs I’ll ask for Hikma when I go again instead then. Have you tried the hi-tech? When you said small white ones I wasn’t sure if you meant Rhodes or hi-tech. Thanks for info.
Re: Bullet (# 216)
I am having severe headache to the Rhodes like nothing I’ve ever had. I was on the name brand Suboxone films before this but used to be on name brand subs years ago and had no issues, I had also been on the Teva brand at one point. This new little white one has had me awake for 2 days, severe headache, and body malaise. I called the pharmacy and the only other one they can get is the Hikma- they’re going to order it but what do you guys think about this Hikma reading mixed reviews but the Rhodes is making me feel deplorable!
I would like to find the Rhodes Subutex in my area, could anybody help? Thank you.
Re: Goozer (# 208)
How can I get the Rhodes in Hawaii? I’ve always taken the 8mg mylan brand I was getting at cvs and they were good enough then my doctor switched me to Walgreens and I got switched to actvais orange 153 which gave me migraines and sever cravings they are the worst. I asked my doctor to switch me back to cvs but they had only the hi-tech brand which I’m scared to take I’ve heard horror stories about them so he had to call in 2mg four times a day so I could get the rest of the mylan they had which was only 83 pills so I don’t know what to do now. Any help wound be very appreciated!
Re: Goozer (# 211)
How can you find these? I cannot in my area.
TKRaxXtchYY120 (# 208) --
Just to confirm something. Westward is Hikma. They changed their name but remain the same company. I contacted them by phone and was told this. No problem when you have refills still out or requesting by company.Thr NDC# remams the same. I have been on subs since 2003 and always prefer this brand.Take Care
John (# 211) --
Buprenorphine is subutex and suboxone its the main ingredient in them both however the suboxone also has naloxone in it.
I use Buprenorphine for my pain and it has been much better than Subutex or Suboxone
Re: JP (# 207)
Let me know your area and I will find a place for you to fill for Rhodes Purdue ones.
Re: TKRaxXtchYY120 (# 209)
Thank you very much for the feedback. I have learned this myself recently and I have had the sun pharma and no one likes them. They burn and are not nearly efficient but everyone has a preference I still believe Rhodes / Purdue to be the best and there are only 7 generics still except counting brand. Let me know though, but no one enjoys the suns, so I'm surprised to hear this. You would be the first. I can get any generic and after sun I will never go back again. Sun is pricey but burn the mouth and are not as effective as Rhodes / Purdue by 90%. They are double the potency of sun or 54 411 S., but please keep me posted. Thank you.
Re: Goozer (# 208)
This is for anyone who wonders what the best tablet is in my opinion.
Dude the "Rp b8". I have been on subutex for 4 years and I can promise you right now they are not all that like everyone thinks they are. They're okay. Yes they are better then most....Now let me get to my point.... Number one, the 54 411 tablets, they are not distributed by westward pharmaceuticals anymore (instead they were bought out in 3 months because people realized they weren't the same when roxanne was the manufacturer so I found out today) they recently sold to a company called "Hikma" as of "May 2018".
In my opinion the best ones are the sun pharmaceuticals 460 tablet. They are by far stronger with less fillers and that is my opinion. The new 54 411's "Westward sold to hikma" I admit they sucked ! When they sold to westward ! Just 4 months ago! I filled them and realized they weren't the same as when roxanne was the manufacturer but! But I filled them today (54 411) because, they sold to a new company in may of 2018. So the 54 411 tablets went in order like this. In 2014 and 2015 and the beginning of 2016, 17 and lastly 2018 this was the order in somewhat of accordance (54 411):
54 411-manufacturer: roxanne (2014-2017)
54 411-manufacturer:westward (late '17-'middle of 2018)
54 411-manufacturer: hikma (may 2018-currently the new manufacturer)
Now I go to a mom and pop's I have a choice of four different kinds I have tried all eight generics. The 460's seem like they last longer. I haven't tried the new 54411 that westward bought and sold in just 4 months to "Hickma" in just 3.5 months! I have a choice on the:
- "Rp b8's" sun pharmaceuticals/purdue
- "8 arrow" hi-tech pharmaceuticals
- "54 411" (as of may 2018) hikma pharmaceuticals, bought out westward pharmaceuticals....Due to everyone saying the same thing.
....Now today I filled the 54 411 tabs , to see if there is a difference I have seen a lot of argument and the positive debates already on "Hikmah" buying westward out so fast. My speculation I would say because everybody has been complaining that roxanne was the best.... That manufactured the 54 411's.... Once they sold to westward everyone noticed they weren't as strong (due to fillers). Let's see how good they are now that "Hikma pharmaceuticals bought out westward just last month! And they now manufacturer the 54-411's.
I'm going to see if there is any change in the 54 411's and I'll let you all know. For now the best ones in my opinion are:
1.) "460's"
2.) "Rp b8"
3.) "54 411"
Now the new company "Hikma" is who distributes and manufacturers the 54 411's, but see how good they are now that they bought out westward. That's why I just filled them and I'm going to try them. I will let everyone know. If anyone has any comments on the new 54-411 tablets, manufactured by hikma and has tried them please let me know what you think. I will let you know as soon as I take my next dose. Don't be afraid to write me, I'm pretty knowledged when it comes to the medicine I take. Thanks!
Re: JP (# 207)
I would highly suggest asking your pharmacy for the newest made generic. It is manufactured by Purdue Pharma and dispensed by Rhodes Pharmacuetical with imprints RP b 8. It is a very hard one to find but is readily available just get a paper rx and take it to a pharmacy who is dispensing Rhodes and or willing to order that one in for you. Stay away from chain pharmacies like Wal-Mart Walgreens CVS etc. I am more than happy to help. Where are you located? Any luck yet. The new 54 411 formerly Roxanne pharma is now westward and no good. The Rhodes generic is newest made by Purdue and 2 times the efficient than any other generic I have tried. The old Roxanne were good but are now gone and replaced by westward. Please don't hesitate to ask for help.
