Generic Subutex/buprenorphine - Which Manufacturer Do You Prefer? (Page 3)

Hello All,
I recently just got changed from suboxone to subutex due to a pretty bad allergic reaction to the naloxone in the suboxone. Basically my question for everyone is which generic do you guys prefer? My pharmacist can order any kind for me so at the moment I just got the Roxanne ones 8mg - they are white round tablets. This is my first day using and am already noticing my migraines are starting to subside, not fully, but starting to. So yeah if anyone has any suggestions please let me know all the ups and downs that you guys have been experiencing, thanks!
Good luck to one and all!
D
I have been on many forms of Subutex for quite some time.
I find the Roxannes to be fine.
It's going to work out fine, I wish you much success with this.

I actually think I prefer the hikima now which is wierd because they got so bad when they first changed to hikima. I got Rhodes this month after having hikima for 2 months and I notice I feel like I need to take my dose earlier because I'm feeling off sooner. The Rhodes is still good maybe it's just because I got used to Rhodes then switched.
I had prescriptions for both - first Suboxone which caused nausea and vomiting almost every day. I took it for five months and I lost 40 by the time I switched to Generic Buprenorphine pills (Subutex). That lasted a month. I could not get it down at all. I vomited every day and lost another 10 -12 pounds. I was too thin at that point and there was little to no pain relief. Because I was sick with both forms of Buprenorphine, I blamed Buprenorphine for the reaction.

Exactly they are terrible! Always call your Pharmacy a head of time to see what they have! Now I will get RP b8. On Friday, I haven’t tried those but hope they will be much better! Avoid the orange ones all cost they caused me to feel more sweaty irritated and like withdrawal feelings! I have been on subutex since 2012. I tried to Quite one time and developed such terrible side effects I took one little piece and bam I was back feeling good!! The ones w the arrow were good and most others!
Re: Bedtime for Benzo (# 230)
Who in the world would race about the orange half moon??., they are one of the worst generics we have to choose from, the best is Rhodes and hikma,..I will avoid the orange at all cost..
Re: John (# 212)
Buprenorphine,..is subutex,..and buprenorphine with naloxone is suboxone,..so your saying?,..you take subutex for your pain?..
Re: Vic (# 237)
Before I started following goozers.group I never thought to hunt around for any specific brand, just always accepted the orange half moons,..eww, for I have taken subutex, I never could understand why I always felt like I was in and out withdrawal? My doctor would give me clonadine and a nausea meds, .I learned from him to find the best buprenorphine product and only accept the best, after all this medacine does cost a good money.
I found Rhodes and for now hikma brand..since then I'm feeling so much better..
Re: Vic (# 237)
I heard activas tex is bad..most activas is and look at Tevas recent ipo drops...they losing lot of money teva/ activas right now
Re: Vic (# 237)
That is wonderful I do prefer the Rhodes over 54 411 but both do make me sleepy but Rhodes strongest generic best quality
Re: Goozer (# 201)
Hi,
I had the subutex orange 153 and it’s been terrible! They don’t work at all you don’t get any feeling from them at all they make u feel like you are withdrawing! Now I will try the fp b8 and I hope they are again great!
Re: Bullet (# 224)
The Rhodes will start to appear, I have been getting them for around 8 months now. But it was definitely hard to find. I have noticed chain pharmacy's always get the same supply for a generics, they are not going out of there way b.v for just one customer..eventually they will get them in. For now mom n pop shops want your business..I found out mine had never heard of them. I told them the numbers and the company name. They have been getting them ever since..for some reason his two shipments didn't arrive so I got hikma this month.. those are the only two I will except...the pharmacist told me they are the most affordable for Rhodes so he can give his Customers a better price to. So hopefully chain pharmacy's will soon realize it to. But yep still hard to find in my area Florida
Re: Yvonne (# 226)
A huge difference!! Lol, just buprenorphine, no naloxone...in 2005 I started on subutex for 6 days on the 7th day you'd be bumped up to suboxone. I knew that day something was off, I wasn't feeling as good as the other 6 days. I called the doctors office asking if this was a mistake, something feels off. I decided I had a bad reaction to the naloxone and since some doctors will only give suboxone..I looked up what allergic reaction and came up with one. I have never ever had to take suboxone again, I guess sometimes ya have to tell a white lie to get it. But it's true in these differences

No more Roxanne, they were bought out by westward now hikma owns it. They have changed the ingredients and mine are a dull white not shinny at all and some where chipped..I'd go with #1Rhodes, or #2hikma...anything else is definitely junk. I have tried them all started out in 2005 with brand name subutex..now Rhodes has the ingredients comparable to brand name. So follow the money and get Rhodes they do feel 2x stronger for sure
Re: Goozer (# 201)
I was getting 54 411. They were great, but now I got these new RP B8. Not bad at all. I've had the other junk, nothing compares.
Re: RF (# 231)
Same here West ward are garbage. I've been on the Roxanne labs for ten years for chronic pain I called 30 pharmacies in NJ!
Re: Brendinnix (# 21)
I was on the films and lost my insurance. Tried the hiT brand twice and they were just unpredictable. So I've read Roxane is the best generic. I called around today and a pharmacy said they only carried the Westward brand. Huh? Never heard of that one... then I read an article online that Westward bought out Roxane.

Yes. In Northern California (SF Bay Area) there is small chain of pharmacies called Pharmaca. They will be happy to order Teva or whoever makes this moon pill everyone is raving about. No problem. EXCEPT: My insurance plus medicare still costs me $350 out-of-pocket for 45 pills! So I went with the Hikma for $45 and am totally satisfied. It's like putting a stick of chalk under your tongue but hey, beats getting sick!
I've been on Subutex generics since 2012. I have always gotten the Roxane 54 411 from a Walmart Pharmacy and have always liked that version the best. A few times when my former doctor was not feeling well enough to come in, the nurse would have to call in my prescription which Walmart does not allow. I had to use Walgreens instead which carried the Actavis Brand. I did not mind the Actavis Orange pills with the moon imprint but would not choose over the Roxane. I did not notice a difference with the quality of medicine when Roxane was sold. One month I was given the Hi-Tech brand small white pill with an arrow on it. The pharmacist said it was all they had in stock. This version is my least favorite. I found myself taking much more than I normally take on a daily basis and ran out of meds early that month. I now make sure to ask the pharmacist which brand is in stock before I fill my script. This month I was given the Rhodes / Purdue version. I was a little worried at first but they seem to be on par with the Roxane brand.
Re: cucupuffs (# 4)
Typical result of decision by committee, especially corporate boards.
Re: Jonny A (# 225)
I absolutely agree but Roxanne was bought out by Hikma and suddenly my pharmacy can't get the only generic I like and have taken for two years. Hikma says they have plenty if there's a back order it's the distributors who have the problem and they have no clue...I've tried to contact the disributor. I refuse to take tiny hitech pills, I like to take halves. I've been searching my area for the Hikma/Roxanne but no luck...
