Generic Subutex/buprenorphine - Which Manufacturer Do You Prefer? (Page 3)

Updated

Hello All,

I recently just got changed from suboxone to subutex due to a pretty bad allergic reaction to the naloxone in the suboxone. Basically my question for everyone is which generic do you guys prefer? My pharmacist can order any kind for me so at the moment I just got the Roxanne ones 8mg - they are white round tablets. This is my first day using and am already noticing my migraines are starting to subside, not fully, but starting to. So yeah if anyone has any suggestions please let me know all the ups and downs that you guys have been experiencing, thanks!

Good luck to one and all!

D

I just filled my script last night with 300 2mg roxannes. My pharmacist has agreed to keep 300 in stock now at all times so I have no troubles. The mylans have poor quality control and consistency but in general they work. I just cant afford to take a gamble if ill get a bunk dose. I have a heavy duty job and am father of three.

Ur wrong my dude, you can take a full 8 mg subutex and feel the effects of pain medication 2 hours later. There is no blocker in subutex this is why 90% of ppl try and get those. Now suboxone is a different story.. This is from my experience from years and years. Good luck and I personally feel the subutex do work better.. When I take suboxone I can't sleep for nothing and it makes my stomach kill me..

Ive been debating the same thing ,which one was better... This has helped me to see im not crazy. I def need more of the Mylans. I perfer the Roxanne but for the Roxanne Brand Walmart wants 247.00 and for Mylan Kmart wants 155.00 BIG DIFFERENCE!! Tough decision

I hate to tell you that you're wrong because it seems like you have been taking pain medication following a dose of Buprenorphine but you are most definitely wrong. The no locks but you are most definitely wrong. The Naloxone that is the only difference Between Suboxone and subutex. You need to do your research and you will find that the blocker lies only in the buprenorphine. And please don't try to argue me because I have taken Subutex more times than I can count and two hours later took pain meds without feeling a single thing. You may think you're feeling the effects of pain medicine, but all you are feeling is minimal effects of the pain medicine mixed with the buprenorphine. Whether it is Suboxone or Subutex, no matter what the main ingredient buprenorphine will attach itself to your opiate receptors. The medicine will sweep these receptors for the remainder of your half life. The last time I relapsed, I was on Subutex for eight months. I could not feel the effects of oxycodone for the first three days. Trust me brother your wasting anything your doing immediately following subs. On top of that, every single time I have overdosed I have asked these questions to the doctors because of the continuous debate and every time I have received the same answer. It is bupe that blocks the effects of other opiates, all naloxone does is act as a deterrent from people trying to inj. or it can be prescribed by itself called Naltrexone and what that does is eliminate cravings.

Now I am not saying that using opiates after any of these medicines will make you sick. You just don't feel it's effects. But if you take Subs to soon after the use of another opiate, that can make you sick. A lot of people confuse that as well.

"I got da info" :you are posting the same misinformation that has been throwing everybody off and fking them up for years. BUPRENORPHINE blocks the effects of ALL opiate agonists (percs vics, etc) and antagonists (naloxone). Nothing can stand a chance. The naloxone in suboxone does nothing because it cant compete with the bupe. The manufacturer put it in as a scare tactic because it was supposed to discourage I.V abuse, however it was discovered that its just cant beat the bupe. Maybe, MAYBE, if one were to I.V 5-8mg tablets of suboxone, (40mgs bupe, 10mgs naloxone) it may possible be enough to start putting up a fight, but even then is doubtful. I have been on straight bupe for many many moons and if I want to feel any opes full strength, Id have to go 7-10 days without taking my BUPE ONLY subutex pills. What you stated is exactly what the manufacturer of Suboxone wanted everyone to belief, because the naloxone andprocess of combining the two drugs was quite expensive making generic competition more expensive and less appealing to generic companies trying to make a certain amount of profit while keeping their prices low. But it has been proven over the years that the naloxone does nothing because bupe outcompetes everything that tries to touch the Mu opioid receptors. Even naloxne. But every now and then, someone comes along who doesnt bother to do a little research to confirm what they think they know before posting incorrect information. Im sure SEVERAL people will back me up soon.

Just when I was starting to think that the "naloxone is the blocker" misinformation was finally squashed, someone comes along and posts it again. Search THIS SITE even and you will find several posts that put that misinformation to sleep. Some people who are sensitive to Naloxone will have issues with it, but only because it affects other systems, nothing to do with the opioid receptors. They only way I can feel anything right away on straight bupe or Suboxone is if I take ungodly amounts of ops, 30mgs+ oxycodone or 10mgs+ or opana, 16mgs+ of dilaudid. Amounts that would damn near kill anyone without a tolerance. The amounts and waiting times make no difference if its Suboxone or Subutex. Because in both cases the bupe fills all the receptor, blocking everything else. Including and especially the naloxone.

I have been on generic subutex13yrs. Roxane brand. No problems. Never could tell the difference really from original.. This is the only brand i will take. The rest are either full of fillers etc. Saved my life!

I agree with you texpert... So many people have it in their heads that they can use opiates after subutex but not suboxone... It took me not very long to understand that its bupe that is blocking the effects of opiates not naloxone. Right on with everything you stated.

The white ones that have 54 written over 411 but the small ones work well to. What kind of reaction did you have while taking suboxone?

I ended up with half a month of hi tech due to a pharmacy error. Man did that ever suck! I left my pharmacist a message to make sure he has 300 Roxanne 2mg for me on Thurs.

Just filled 8mg subutex by Roxane at Walmart. Walgreens has hi-tech brand. Not sure which works best for me. But either is WAY better than s***ty Suboxone. Literally made me sweat like a crack head.

That's not a true statement I get tevas every month and Wal-Mart only has the Roxanne version

I think you must be referring to generic suboxone (bupe+naloxone). This page is referring to Subutex (bupe only). Teva no longer makes a bupe only product. I wish they still did because it used to be the best. They do however now offer a bupe + naloxone product which is actually very good. Roxanne labs has both versions, however their bupe and naloxone is straight up terrible, even worse than the other orange by Amneal. The bupe only Roxanne is what i usually get and the quality is the best. 8

The mu receptors are saturated with bube. Therefore no opiate can break through. If you're trying to get clean why take both anyway? I've been on bupe 11yrs. Initially i tried opiates to see for myself. They cannot break through.

I have looked everywhere. But CVS seems to be the only pharmacy that carried them right now.

Addicts have a finely tuned sense of feel. I'm reading all these posts. We are a smart, caring group. Makes me proud... I've been on Subs (I'm thinking if u call them Subs, They can't highlight it)...anyway~8 yrs. I've found that admit it or not, once you've felt euphoria you'll do what you must to get it. This legal, pharmaceutical way is pretty good! I don't have many bad days, I don't suffer from depression either. But to think about all the people getting rich due to our dependence on their "maintenance" drug or legal alternative is infuriating! I'm posting here to suggest we ALL go do some research & find out how to purchase stock in either Mylan, Roxanne, Rickett/Binnkieser (SP?), cuz junkies ain't going away! BTW the 5411 white rounds are BEST! No euphoria in the others, though they work as intended. Get back to me if you wanna chat, or I'll post another time. I'm from Philly. Research stock options & let's share the wealth! $150.00/per 10 minute visit for a while script!!!?? Getdaf*** outta here! ETHICAL PHD...(I know, I know: Don't forget the role that YOU play in this thing!...) Hot mess this thing is for real.

Which pharmacy do you get teva? Does it have to be a script for actual Subutex or can it be generic Buprenorphine? Every pharmacy I have called said they don't have Teva buprenorphine. I live in N.Y. State

I just got my script today and I got something different than normal which is roxanne brand 54 411 big white which I liked the best. Well today I just noticed I got mylan M 924. They seem stronger in flavor and seem to be lasting longer in the day. I think i might stick with these.

Have been on Buprenorphine 8mg sublingual since early 2011 (Almost 6 years) have had generics dispensed from several different manufacturers, one of whom eludes me right now but was manufactured by a company whose' manufacturing facilities where out of Georgia and South Carolina, that was manufacturing fraudulent pills,
Have never had an issue with pill made by Roxanne Labs and actually have found them to perform better than most others
