Generic Subutex/buprenorphine. Ranking From Best To Worst. (Page 4)

Updated

This is for people who actually take Subutex for the intended purpose for which it is used. So if you actually take the medication sublingually, this thread will help you. I have been taking buprenorphine for three and a half years now. This is what I have found: (8mg) Best: Actavis 153/half moon (orange) Middle: Roxanne 54/411 (white) Worst: Hi-Tech 8/arrow Again, this is for people who take medication as prescribed. You can actually break the medication in half and put it and the front of your lip like dip & chewing tobacco. It will take longer for it to dissolve like this but you will get much much more of the bupe.

The Butrans patch is INCREDIBLE! I broke my hips and have some nerve damage in my back from back in my military days and have been on the Butrans patch for several years. I am also a recovering addict and have used the Butrans patch with absolutely no problem. It has done amazing things for my pain without making me feel buzzed or faded. I am totally alert and almost entirely pain free due to this patch. I have the 20MCG (Microgram) which is the highest MCG you can get. I also take Buprenorphine sublingually to help with the bad days. Most doctors will not prescribe both but my doc knows me well and we have found what really works for me. When you get a prescription, you are given a package with 4 patches, each of which will last you seven days. Do be careful of the adhesive though, as it can cause a pretty awful skin reaction even if you're used to it. In the past several years, I have only had a bad reaction twice and it caused the skin where my patch was to be very itchy and red. I just took the patch off and placed it elsewhere and it was fine. Totally recommend these, any questions let me know.

I don't get what your saying here..the reason I ask is I've taken buprenorphine (subuex) and for some reason been having trouble with it working..I nothing first your talking about cotton mouth. Then wet clean mouth. Brushing, teeth, adderall?? What's that all about? Are you trying to say adderall may interfere with buprenorphine and the mouth having something to do with it. Please explain again and in short detail..I'm all over with this huge speach and I still don't get what your trying to say. Thx

Has anyone been on buprenorphine 8mg x 3 daily as long as I have since 2007? Obviously I started out taking the brand name which was a great product. Since a good year ago I'm having trouble with it working...I asked my dr, is it possible its stopped for me because of all the years of usage? NO IS THE ANSWER...then I'm thinking ok then what's going to? So my dose was increased to 3 and a half as of now...if still no results I'm back to 4 8mgs a day again. It's not that they are not working at all, I'm not in w/ds, just not right...I switched manufacturers and still not much luck..so now I'm desperate to find the new released Rhodes..I'm not having any luck finding it at the moment I have actually called like 25 pharmacies in my area of southwest Florida..I was told if I can find a prime pharmacy I'd have maybe luck, but the Sarasota prime said NO. Can anyone give me some names of pharmacies please?

Re: Christina (# 61) Expand Referenced Message

Thank you for sharing your experience with it I have both artificial hips and several vertical fractures in my spine from an accident on ride on equipment. I'm also unfortunately looking ahead to a knee replacement. This patch sound like a miracle to me, the sublingual strips have changed my life, completely. It doesn't give me any high or feeling of euphoria to chase. I would say I'm physically dependent on it for necessity, meaning I would probably have some sort of withdraw if I stopped taking it suddenly, but most all medications that you take on a regular basis for an extended period of time will cause this. It gave me my life back, and actually improved it substantially. I've got my regular check up with my primary care physician coming up soon and I'm planning on bringing this product up to him. Again I can thank you guys enough for you input.

Re: Charlene (# 66) Expand Referenced Message

Hello Charlene and I love Sarasota. I live in Atlanta now which is my home, but I lived in Destin for 14 yrs. Ok yes I've been on Subutex since 2005. Started Suboxone but couldn't tolerate the naloxone. I was on 32 mgs for 6yrs, then dropped to 24. I was told that was the dose my insurance would cover. My dilemma started when the Roxane brand was sold to Westward which is now Hikma so? Well I did A LOT OF RESEARCH ON GENERICS IN GENERAL. Example: clonazepam 1mg - I take 3 a day. They became garbage. Made in India and China etc. I talked to my Dr and we did the prior authorization and I am now on Klonopin brand name. I'm ready to do the same with Subutex. Although these are made in the USA (Ohio & N. Carolina.) I never felt high, that's not my intention. They did fill my opiate receptors and for the first time I had no cravings. Also I just had a little up feeling if you know what I mean and you probably do. Anyway they've become like a flatline. But here's the deal with this month. Maybe I got a good batch, which they ALL SHOULD BE. Anyway I did feel like the old Roxane for the most part. If I get anymore that are not effective the protocol is contact Human so? Then file a complaint with the FDA. I am very proactive on this because I was told I would have to take these the rest of my life and we are the consumer making these companies rich. Good luck!

But my mom n pop pharmacy got them in...I was so tired of all the generics out there not living up to the original brand name subutex..yes, I usually get the hikma 54 411 but from now on its Rhodes..

Re: Charlene (# 72) Expand Referenced Message

that is so wonderful to hear! it took my from October 2017 when they came out til February 2018 to get mine solid and yes it took a lot of leg work with those jerks as you say but love the feedback and so happy for you. people don't understand just how badly an insufficient or type of generic can mess with you so bad. so happy you found the best and most preferred generic. best wishes keep feedback coming. God bless

Yes the ones from Sun Pharmaceuticals I've never seen anywhere else but Publix they did burn my tongue at first but after getting them for a few months it goes away. They do their job though I think the worst ones are the orange activist ones those are the worst. And most places only have the orange ones now now. I have told the pharmacy not to give me those because I had a bad reaction so after filling a few times after I went home the next day I looked at my prescription and it was the orange one so I called them and they said there's nothing they can do that's what they're getting for now on so now I'm screwed and stuck with these. I'm going to go into my doctor to see if there's anything they can do. But I don't think so. I was wondering if something like that happened are you just screwed or what a doctor actually help you? Try to get different ones or something. Milan pharmaceutical brand that has an m on one side the 924 on the other is the other kind that works well but I haven't seen those anywhere anymore.

Rhodes and teva are closes to brand name and Rhodes and teva generic have the same active and inactive ingredients where as Rhodes has tri sodium citrate dyhydrate teva has sodium citrate. it is funny because Rhodes and teva are almost identical to brand name subutex in their active and inactive ingredients making them the best next to brand name.

Re: Lolo (# 76) Expand Referenced Message

Just wondering if your from Florida area? Just because I noticed you mentioned the grocery store publix..I have never bumped into either sun brand or Mylan since my buprenorphine treatment back in 2007. I take 4 8s a day..but when I heard we had a new generic Rhodes on the market my hunt began. Calling places walking into places if I was in an area of a pharmacy. So I walked into publix to ask.what they carried that store told me sun I've never gotten my bup in a publix before no special reason idk .its crazy because I have 5 stores in close range of my home and have at least 4 relatives that work for publix and 2 aunts retired .. I never bumped into sun, Mylan ever...now I also have again 5 Walgreens in my area to one is walking distance. They have carried orange half moon forever and that the spot of last resorts I ordered from them like I said it would have to be a desperate situation for me. I hate them. Number 1, they have less bup in them compared to all the others..and they make me like a dull feeling. My dr.has to give me clonadine for the month if I had ended up with them live heard alot of bad results about sun and most ppl don't like actavis so .... I really hate to complain to much about them really because in the back of my mind it thinks what if they disappeared somehow from the opioid epidemic going on. I know it will never happen. But I try to accept them because we actually need them.

I was on Roxane brand (the big round white ones) generic for Subutex for nearly 15 years. They seemed to work well. Then Hi-Tec came out with the little white ones with the 8 on one side and an arrow on the other. I prefer the Hi-Tec because (a) they dissolve much faster and (b) don't taste as bad.

Re: Benzonator (# 79) Expand Referenced Message

If your looking for one that does not have that hard bup taste...then you should try the new Rhodes that just came out. This is my first month on them and I can tell you they match up perfectly with roxanne/westward/hikma. The 54 411s they are the perfect bup out there. I could hardly stand the after taste of the buprenorphine left in my mouth. Well I do take a high dose (8mg x 4 day), so taking 4 pills I'd wait awhile so you can brush your teeth. I just can rave enough about Rhodes, they are definitely smooth, they dissolve well and best yet no aftertaste. I've been taken buprenorphine for almost 15 years now. I started out on name brand subutex. Tried all the other generics. So Yahoo Rhodes.
