Generic Subutex/buprenorphine. Ranking From Best To Worst. (Page 2)

This is for people who actually take Subutex for the intended purpose for which it is used. So if you actually take the medication sublingually, this thread will help you. I have been taking buprenorphine for three and a half years now. This is what I have found: (8mg)

Best: Actavis 153/half moon (orange)
Middle: Roxanne 54/411 (white)
Worst: Hi-Tech 8/arrow

Again, this is for people who take medication as prescribed. You can actually break the medication in half and put it and the front of your lip like dip & chewing tobacco. It will take longer for it to dissolve like this but you will get much much more of the bupe.

Hi I am Staci I was addicted to Opioids for 15 years I took the strongest I could find percs,oxys,Roxy's and methadone and other stuff to. I was real addicted to methadone after trying them I would take 10 or more a day of whatever I had I probably would be dead right now if not for Suboxone/Subutex. I have been on Suboxone/Subutex for a little over a year and I get the strips and the Subutex I have never throw up on any of them I started by taking 2-3 a day now I take 1/2-1 a day. I don't like the orange subutex something about them is different but Suboxone saved my life I am now narcotic free and am so glad to finally be off of them but the withdrawals were so bad I couldn't get off of them Subutex is a miracle drug that takes the withdrawals away and they last a lot longer also. I just wanted to say that I am glad I got on Suboxone don't know how long I will be on it my Dr. Said no rush that we will tapper me down when I am ready if I am ever ready but I heard you have withdrawals from Suboxone but just not as bad as narcotic withdrawals is that true anyone because I hate withdrawals as we all hate withdrawals but either way they still saved me because I was getting way to stupid on the amount I would take of narcotics. I will never get back on narcotics again I never want to go through that ever again I am so much happier now that I am off of narcotics. Thank you everyone for your comments and opinions they really do help alot.

What are you talking about? It goes under your tongue because of the massive vein under your tongue. The thinnest skin with the biggest vein that absorbed the medicine into your blood.

I’ve been stuck with the worst ones for months. I’m not sure what makes them be the worst. Can anybody explain? You think I can ask the pharmacy to order a different brand?

I need help, I have been on suboxone strip 2/8mg 3 Times daily for over a year. I was just told today I will be weaned down to only 1 and a half 2/8mg a day and not only that I will be switched to the generic tablet form of the suboxone the same time. I am reading all these horror stories about the generic tablet and I am wondering what is the best way to take the tablet that will ensure I get the most from the dose and what is the best generic brand? Is there a way I can ask for a certain brand from my pharmacy when filling my script? I have read that the tablets don't work at all and with me weaning down at the same time switching to the tablet I really need to get the most from the med and avoid WD symptoms because we all know that is no fun! Thank you :)

You will have WD symptoms from suboxone/subutex. I guess the degree of WD you experience will be different for every person and everyone's opinion will be different. I have went through WD from methadone to hydrocodone and suboxone and the difference for me was with methadone I went through the body aches and pains and it was months before I felt my energy come back and could get through the day without thinking of a methadone, where as with suboxone (I've been on it twice and WD from it once) the physical WD I went through wasn't near as bad as that from methadone however, I went through a terrible depression after going off the suboxone that went on for over 4 months until I eventually made the decision to go back on the suboxone. But like I said everyone is different. I've heard people say they experience no WD symptoms when going off suboxone, Hope that helps if you are still wondering.

The 54 411 are not being phased out, though it is true that Roxanne was bought out by Westward. The pills with the 460 imprint are a new brand altogether, by Sun pharmaceuticals. I found them to be a decent 2nd place to my favorite, the 54 411s.

I do take the medecine correctly I understand how I worded it could be misunderstood. I ment the best way to take it as in under the tongue, in cheek, or in the lip. Which way would keep the medecine held in your mouth longest. considering all that I have read not many people will say that the tablets work as well as the strips. That is what I ment.

Yes, I have had a problem with changing manufacturers. I'm new to this treatment but, have a brother that's been on them for years. It has been proven thru his blood work that the orange/oval, leaves a much lower level of the medicine than the white round ones by Westward. I received the Westward for my first week and I instantly got my life back, this was a miracle for my life. The second week and for the rest of the month, I am stuck with the orange tablets and before my brother informed me the difference in the med, I thought I made a huge mistake going this route. I am currently counting the days till I can get a new script and hopefully get the same I first received from Westward. I have found the orange ones provide a better pain relief if I break them in half, put both halves under my tongue, bend my head forward a little (while playing a game on my phone) and let it sit completely still. I'm able to make it last almost an hour and it does help enough. Good luck to all. For me, I'm sticking with West Ward manufacturer for 8 mg tabs of subutex.

I was on Suboxone for 6 yrs and my insurance stopped paying for them. Within a week I was at the methadone clinic and its helping my chronic pain and withdrawals very much. Suboxone helped my pain for a while but then when the pain started getting worse I swore I'd never get on methadone but here I am 90mgs so far. We'll see how this goes. Suboxone should help you if your pain is not severe. Too bad I cannot find a Dr who takes medicaid in Florida. Til then stuck paying 16$ a day a dose. I'm on SSI and you know they don't give you much. Good luck with your Suboxone. I hope it helps you baby.

Hello all. I take Suboxone but I've not taken these pills you speak of I get the brand name Suboxone sublingual strips. I've seen the pills but it's been a very long time and one was the half Moon one and the other actavis.

My experience and the things that were said to me by my physician is under tounge or between the cheek and gum just let it dissolve do not spit, eat or drink whilst doing that. But a friend I met in a outside meeting that goes to a cash pay clinic claimed her Dr told her to spit the saliva out? That what your going to get is absorbed directly to the skin? And to not actually swallow the strip that you won't get the complete amount of bupe. Are the pills better? Anyone had experience with both. I have a chronic pain issue and this is my only alternative to pain relief. I've been on it for almost 3 years now started on 2 strips a day and still remain on two strips a day. It works reasonably good for my pain, although that's an issue I have had to realize, that its impossible to be totally pain free every single day, I've accepted this.

Another question, I read a comment above that said they stepped down to Subutex? Here in my area only those who are allergic to the naloxone in it and the females that are pregnant can get that, just wondering. Do the pills help the pain better? Also on the subject of "feeling it" I really don't feel different or anything when I take it only if I don't. Now if I skip one day I can tell I feel tired, then late in the evening I start getting achey now the next day when I do take it I do feel "energized" kind of. Only reason I know this is cause every now and then I have to come back the next day to get my meds from pharmacy other than that I've taken it religiously for 880 some days. There's another brand called zubsolv here but nobody gets it, not sure what it's like. They do have the pills here but you have to ask you doctor and then they in turn contact your pharmacy and set it up.

Is their anyone here that had experience with both? Or knows which would work best for pain? Also I entered my program voluntarily and chose to remain because I enjoy the groups and meetings and can actually leave it but remain on the Suboxone for my pain issues but was told I can take it differently when taking just for pain for example I would take whole 8/2mg strip in morning then intermittently take quarters or the other two halves later in the day sort of like every 4 to 6 hours for pain. Any experience with that, any opinions or advice would be appreciated. Thanks and good luck to you all.

You are absolutely correct. I have been on subutex for 5 years and 100% agree with your rankings. The Orange subutex are by far the best.

Activis is STILL garbage that DOES NOT WORK. Idk how you can seriously recommend this with SO MUCH evidence to the contrary that is all over the internet, and recently at that. I was on Activis, it was nothing but problems, and my doctor told me to try to get Mylan if possible, but I was only able to find 1/2 a months supply. They worked wonders, though.
Now I'm on Roxannes, and they're ALMOST as good. But nobody should pay a nickel for Actavis bupes: they're worse than worthless.

Seems to me some if you ppl don't know the difference between subutex and suboxone.. SUBOXONE has an opiate blocker, naloxone.. While SUBUTEX does NOT.. subutex is mostly prescribed for pregnant women.. Its close to impossible to get prescribed subutex In my area unless your pregnant or nursing
