Generic Subutex/buprenorphine. Ranking From Best To Worst. (Page 10)
UpdatedThis is for people who actually take Subutex for the intended purpose for which it is used. So if you actually take the medication sublingually, this thread will help you. I have been taking buprenorphine for three and a half years now. This is what I have found: (8mg)
Best: Actavis 153/half moon (orange)
Middle: Roxanne 54/411 (white)
Worst: Hi-Tech 8/arrow
Again, this is for people who take medication as prescribed. You can actually break the medication in half and put it and the front of your lip like dip & chewing tobacco. It will take longer for it to dissolve like this but you will get much much more of the bupe.
Re: Christina (# 61)
It’s so much weaker 900µg max dose subutex 8mg to me it’s 8 times more medication…correct me if I’m wrong.
Re: PETEY Pete (# 166)
Almost always it’s required for the doctor to write the brand specific on prescription. Pharmacies will push back and deny other non preferred brands by way of saying they can get their preferred brand.
Re: Roxanne 64 (# 178)
I just got the Purdue ones today after taking hi tech for 3 years. I def like them more than hi tech. I thought the hi tech ones were good too tho. There def is a difference. I just hope my pharmacy keeps these.
Re: Roxanne (# 176)
I have been taking the AKORN brand (the arrow and 8 symbols) they done well for me. I have dry mouth it's horrendous. So I have a hard time dissolving pills they just sit under my tongue and taste like crap. Well AKORN filled for chapter 7 and I can no longer get them. Which tech would you all recommend? I need something small if it can be found
Re: Subman (# 173)
To my knowledge and I even just googled it, it still doesn’t come in a strip or film. Suboxone or generic suboxone are the only one that comes in strips. Subutex only comes in sublingual pills. They recently made suboxone generic so maybe your bupe/naloxone mixed up for being the film. I could be wrong, if so I’d like to know.
I must disagree with the #1. I still go for the hikmy (sp.)??? Please elaborate on your reasoning for Actavis. sorry for typos. I'm curious why you think that. I've followed your q for years. Thanks.
I have been on subutex, not suboxone, since 2009. Last year I decided I was ready to be totally drug free. I started out on 16 mgs and I’m down to 3 mgs now. I now get the 2 mgs tablets. I haven’t had a single problem dropping down until this week. I had to get my new prescription at a different pharmacy cause mine was out. This pharmacy gave me subs from Sun Pharma and I’ve never even paid attention to the manufacturers because I’ve never had a problem. This past week started out ok but the longer I’ve been on this TRASH the sicker I’ve gotten. I could go 36 hours on just 4 mgs. Now with this crap I can’t even go 6 hours! I feel like I’ve been in withdrawals the entire week. Today has been the absolute worst! Horrible migraines, can’t breathe, restlessness, need a pill every 6 hours, nausea, diarrhea. You name it, I’ve had it. Expect relief. I wanted to know if anyone else has had this reaction to Sun Pharma? Thanks for any info.
Re: BigDaddy8484 (# 8)
Rite aid , I got mine yesterday and was told this is what they switched tok
Re: Roxanne64 (# 186)
I also disagree. Hikma and Rhodes were the 2 best for me the orange one was the least
I disagree akorn/ hit tecs were the best for me but they were just completely recalled and now I have to switch I am majorly stressed I dont like the hikma or sun or actavis
Re: Aranica (# 188)
Yes because akorn / hi-tech was all recalled
Re: Moemoe1983 (# 184)
Exact same situation. Idk what to do. I need something small as well.
Re: Moemoe1983 (# 184)
Everyone but those are about the same size sadly. They are all bigger, white and round and very close to the same size, besides the orange ones, I forgot the brand. They have a half moon on them, but I thought I read those were recalled, I could be wrong. Given that info, you’ll be fine with anything other than Sun Pharma. Rhodes/Purdue is the best by a mile IMO. I wish you the best of luck.
Re: Roxanne64 (# 170)
The mind is a powerful thing, so are the ingredients in each different generic. We don’t look close enough, but 1 ingredient or “inactive ingredient” could affect someone differently without even knowing that’s the cause. Reading this thread has made me realize that. I have a brand I prefer, and have taken ones that didn’t act the same for me, however. They are some people’s favorite, so that tells me, they work and have the bupe in them, however for one reason or another, a brand that doesn’t sit well with someone, is other peoples favorites. So would you not agree that’s reasonable to say the other ingredients are a factor? I exclude Sun Pharma, those don’t work for anyone, could be an ingredient, just from the 99% reviews I’ve read, those give people the same side effects. And when you read 99% of reviews that all basically say the same thing, maybe it’s something else. This is a company that’s notorious for getting sued for sketchy practice. And of course we want the best that works for us, we pay good money for these, and it’s what has kept off us off dope, so why dog on someone for wanting to stick with what’s worked for them? And ya, we’re addicts, kind of what these are prescribed for. I just feel there’s more to it than what you listed.
Let me ask BD do you think the medication lasts longer then the expiration date
Re: bupeODorol (# 1)
The 8 mg with arrow on it was best for me been on for 9 years it saved my life keep me working now for sone reason they are bankrupt so they say
Re: BigDaddy8484 (# 3)
See the 8 with arrow help me for 9 years it keep me out of pain i felt normal and could even work hard but now for reasons that i have no idea its not getting made no more it saved my life i am 6,9 with lots of health problems due to the tall man sydome i am in sorrow because they have torn my life upside down
Re: BigDaddy8484 (# 5)
I agree with so much. Subutex does not make me feel high. I struggle with a lot of pain and still do, but I am glad that it helps my life without disability. More people should speak out. I pray to god that he gave me a life that I could live and work hard for my family. I am 46 now and yes I will be on it for the rest of my life. When I pray I always thank the people who he sent to make something that gets me through the day.
Re: Jessica (# 7)
The 8 Hi Tec are the best. I've been on them for 9 years and now they went bankrupt. I don't believe it. I want to know what really happened. They saved my life and nobody has them now.
Re: BigDaddy8484 (# 3)
From everything I keep seeing on the internet it is saying that it's discontinued in the United States and it's all Suboxone now. At the same time I keep reading the people are still able to take Subutex. I'm confused... I myself have been on Suboxone strips for some time now. I decided to go from oxycodone to the strips because I was on a high dose and asked my doctor to switch so that there weren't any problems because of the CDC limits now. At first they worked wonderful for my pain but now not nearly so much.
