Greetings! Just returned from my regular pharmacy where I have been getting my O.C. 80's for years. Today my pharmacist told me that there is now a generic for my Oxy. She told me that because of the cost difference my insurance co. is demanding that I get the generic but the store won't have the generic in stock fot two to three days. This sounds fishy as I have not heard anything about a generic O.C. Has anyone else run into anything like this? Thanks.....Dennis

I know originally, they did away with the generics, due to the fact that there were far too many on the market and it made it hard to keep track of the supply to prevent theft and diversion.
However, from what I'm currently reading generics have been recently approved from Actavis and Sandoz Pharmaceuticals.
The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
Is there anything else I can help with?
