Information I've gathered states the following:
A generic version of Livalo (pitavastatin) is not available. This medication is protected by patents and exclusivity rights that prevent a generic version of the drug from being manufactured in the United States. The earliest predictable date that a generic Livalo product could become available is in May or June 2015, after the first patent expires.

NOTE: Pitavastatin is the active ingredient in Livalo, but it is not a generic version of it. Once the drug goes off-patent, there may be several companies that manufacture a generic Livalo drug.
